CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS FACE TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING IN 2015 STANLEY CUP FINAL

The Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning each advanced to the 2015 Stanley Cup Final this weekend with dramatic Game 7 road victories in the Eastern and Western Conference Finals.

Tampa Bay advanced on Friday night, as goaltender Ben Bishop stopped all 22 shots he faced to beat the New York Rangers by a score of 2-0 in New York, becoming the first team to defeat the Rangers in a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden.

Chicago advanced in the bracket with a 5-3 win in Game 7 of the Western Conference Final on Saturday night on NBC, as captain Jonathan Toews scored twice in the first period, and Patrick Kane chipped in with three assists.

This marks Tampa Bay’s first trip to the Stanley Cup Final since the 2004 season, when the Lightning defeated the Calgary Flames in seven games to win in the title in their only Stanley Cup Final appearance. Chicago aims to win its third championship in six years, after hoisting the Cup in 2010 and 2013 with victories over the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins, respectively.
