STAMFORD, Conn. – May 19, 2015 – NBC Sports Group’s exclusive coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs shifts to the west coast tonight for Game 2 of the Western Conference Final at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when Corey Perry and the Anaheim Ducks host Jonathan Toews and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Tonight’s coverage starts at 8 p.m. ET with NHL Live, featuring host Liam McHugh alongside analysts and former players Mike Milbury and Keith Jones, leading into live game coverage from the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. NBC Sports Live Extra – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, and tablets – will provide streaming coverage of tonight’s Western Conference Final matchup.

The Ducks took Game 1 of the series by a score of 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, as Anaheim goaltender Frederik Andersen made 32 saves and Nate Thompson, Jakob Silfverberg and Hampus Lindholm each recorded a goal and an assist in the win. Anaheim has now won nine of its 10 games in the 2015 postseason, following a first-round sweep of Winnipeg and a five-game series victory over Calgary in the second round. The Blackhawks will look for a Game 2 victory tonight to send the series back to Chicago tied 1-1, where they are a perfect 5-0 thus far in the postseason.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Joe Micheletti (analyst) and Brian Engblom (Inside-the-Glass analyst) will call the action from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

LIGHTNING-RANGERS GAME 2 ON NBCSN DELIVERS BEST TAMPA RATING SINCE NBC SPORTS GROUP ACQUIRED NHL RIGHTS IN 2005

The Tampa Bay Lightning’s 6-2 victory in Game 2 over the New York Rangers last night on NBCSN delivered record ratings in Tampa. NBCSN’s coverage (8-11 p.m. ET) produced an 8.7 local rating in the Tampa market, making it the highest-rated Lightning game on any NBC network since NBC Sports Group acquired NHL broadcast rights in 2005.

Nationally, last night’s Lightning-Rangers game produced a 1.55 overnight rating, up 13% from Game 2 of the 2014 Eastern Conference Final between the Rangers and Canadiens on NBCSN (1.37).

Coverage of last night’s game on NBC Sports Live Extra produced 80,000 uniques and nearly four million minutes watched, up 74% and 71% in those respective metrics when compared with Game 2 of last year’s Eastern Conference Final (46,000 uniques, 2.34 million minutes watched).

In addition, through the first three games of the Conference Finals, NBC Sports Live Extra boasts 9.1 million minutes viewed, up 46% vs. the first three games in 2014 (6.2 million), and 184,000 uniques, up 37% vs. 2014 (134,000).

 


EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL GAME 3 – RANGERS-LIGHTNING – TOMORROW AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – SERIES TIED 1-1

The Eastern Conference Final moves south to Tampa tomorrow night at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when the Lightning host the Rangers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final. Tampa Bay evened the series at one game apiece with a 6-2 victory last night at Madison Square Garden, as Tyler Johnson recorded the first hat trick in Lightning playoff history in the rout, and was one of nine Lightning skaters to record at least one point.

John Forslund will handle play-by-play duties for Game 3, alongside U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member and analyst Eddie Olczyk, and Emmy Award-winning Inside-the-Glass analyst Pierre McGuire from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
