ORLANDO, Fla. (May 13, 2015) – The first major of the 2015 Champions Tour season will be contested this week, as the Regions Tradition gets underway on Thursday in Shoal Creek, Ala. The event is the first of back-to-back majors for the Tour, with the Senior PGA Championship taking place next week in Indiana. World No. 1 Rory McIlroy headlines the field in Charlotte at the Wells Fargo Championship, while Sergio Garcia – after losing in a playoff at THE PLAYERS Championship – headlines the field at the Open de España. Lydia Ko, World No. 1 on the women’s side, is in the field at the Kingsmill Championship in Virginia, along with Inbee Park and Stacy Lewis. And the Web.com Tour is in South Carolina for the BMW Charity Pro-Am.

Back-to-back Majors: The Regions Tradition marks the first major of the Champions Tour season, and is the first of five majors to be contested on the tour in 2015. This week’s event also is the first leg of back-to-back majors, with the Senior PGA Championship being contested next week in Indiana.

Final staging at Shoal Creek: After this week, the event will move five miles down the road to Greystone Golf & Country Club in 2016-18.

Perry defends: Kenny Perry finished one shot ahead of Mark Calcavecchia for his sixth career Champions Tour win and third Champions Tour major.

Headlining the Field: Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Tom Watson, Kenny Perry, Jesper Parnevik, Mark O’Meara, Ian Woosnam, John Cook, Tom Lehman, Fred Funk and Joe Durant.
