Stamford, Conn. – Nov. 5, 2014 – NFL passing leader Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers (5-3) host Jay Cutler and the NFC North rival Chicago Bears (3-5) at legendary Lambeau Field this Sunday, Nov. 9, on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Sunday night’s pre-game coverage begins with Football Night In America at 7 p.m. ET.
Sunday’s game is the 190th regular-season meeting between the Bears and Packers — the most played series in NFL history. In addition, the game marks the ninth consecutive season featuring a Bears-Packers primetime matchup, tying an NFL record (Chargers-Raiders, 1981-1989).
Both teams come off a bye, with the Packers only one game behind the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions (6-2), while the Bears aim to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Calling Bears-Packers is seven-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his 29th season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 15-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth, who has won the Emmy for Outstanding Event Analyst in each of his five seasons in the Sunday Night Football booth; and two-time Emmy Award-winning sideline reporter Michele Tafoya.
NBC’s coverage of Sunday Night Football is led by Emmy Award-winning producer Fred Gaudelli and Emmy Award-winning director Drew Esocoff. Sunday Night Football has won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Sports Series for a record six consecutive years.
Football Night in America, the most-watched studio show in sports, is hosted by 26-time Emmy Award-winner Bob Costas, who will report from Lambeau Field on Sunday. Costas will be joined on site by Collinsworth, Tafoya, two-time Super Bowl winner Hines Ward, and NBC Sports commentator Josh Elliott.
Dan Patrick co-hosts Football Night from NBC Sports Group’s Studio 1 and will be joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk on NBCSN and NBCSports.com, and Peter King of Sports Illustrated. Carolyn Manno will report from CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Wash., on the Giants- Seahawks game.
Dungy: “Aaron Rodgers to me has been awfully hot, and he’s found some different weapons. Randall Cobb has come alive and Eddie Lacy is running the football. That has really helped them.”
Harrison: “The number one thing the Bears have to do is reprioritize that offense. Make the focal point of the offense Matt Forte instead of Jay Cutler. That’s the way you have to go to take some pressure off of Cutler.”
NBC SPORTS LIVE EXTRA
For the seventh consecutive season, Sunday Night Football will be streamed live online. NBC Sports Live Extra, NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product, will stream all SNF games to desktops and tablets. The full HD-quality video stream will come directly from NBC’s broadcast of SNF.
