“TOGETHER WE MAKE FOOTBALL” FEATURES THE STORY OF BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR BETH STEELE TOMORROW MORNING ON TODAY

NBC Sports Group’s Josh Elliott Reports Live on TODAY

New England Patriots Host Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football

STAMFORD, Conn. – October 2, 2014 – Tomorrow’s “Together We Make Football” segment on TODAY, narrated by NBC Sports Group’s Josh Elliott, tells the story of New England Patriots fan and breast cancer survivor Beth Steele. Elliott will report the segment live for TODAY, between 8 and 9 a.m. ET.

This week’s “Together We Make Football” segment profiles Beth Steele, a 36-year old mother of four and Patriots fan, who attended last season’s Patriots-Bengals game with her husband during the NFL’s annual “A Crucial Catch” campaign. The campaign, focused on the importance of annual breast cancer screenings, motivated her to conduct a self-exam that night, during which she found a lump. At her first mammogram appointment, the radiologist discovered Beth had massive and aggressive breast cancer, and needed to be treated immediately. A year later, after undergoing chemotherapy, Beth has a good prognosis and is inspired to educate women of all ages about the importance of annual screenings.

Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals travel to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., to take on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots this Sunday, Oct. 5, on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Coverage begins with Football Night In America at 7 p.m. ET on NBC.
