New Ted Lasso Film Debuts Today Online & In Theatres Across the Country

Coverage Debuts Saturday, August 16 at 7 AM ET on NBCSN

STAMFORD, Conn. – August 8, 2014 – NBC Sports Group’s coverage of the 2014-15 Premier League season kicks off eight days from today, on Saturday, August 16. Coverage begins at 7 a.m. ET with Premier League Live on NBCSN followed by Manchester United v. Swansea City and continues throughout the season on the networks of NBCUniversal, on the Premier League Extra Time bonus TV package, and streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra.

Manchester United have won 5 Premier League titles in the last 8 seasons.

NBC Sports Group will once again make all 380 games from the Premier League available in the United States. All games will be preceded and followed by Premier League Live pre- and post-match shows from the NBC Sports Group International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn.

Ted Lasso Returns – Online, On TV & In Theatres

NBC Sports Group today announced the debut of a new film, starring actor and former Saturday Night Live cast member Jason Sudeikis as “football” coach Ted Lasso, leading up to the launch of NBC Sports Group’s Premier League coverage.

The full-length digital short is a 5½-minute look at Lasso following his stint as manager of Tottenham Hotspur. The film also features lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White, Premier League Live host Rebecca Lowe and Tim Howard, starting goalkeeper for the U.S. Men’s National Team in the 2014 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and for Everton in the Barclays Premier League.

Beginning today, the film will be shown on more than 19,000 movie screens in National CineMedia’s FirstLook pre-show program in AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Entertainment Group and other top theaters nationwide as well as NBC Sports Facebook page and YouTube. Next week, 30-second TV spots will be rolled out across the networks of NBCUniversal.
