MOTORSPORTS

NBC Sports Group presents more than 30 hours of motorsports this weekend, beginning tonight at 5 p.m. ET with NASCAR America on NBCSN.

Rick Allen and Kyle Petty host NASCAR America from the studio in Stamford, Conn.

NBCSN presents eight hours of Auctions America this weekend, beginning today at 3 p.m. ET, and continuing Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Former Tonight Show host and known car-enthusiast Jay Leno will join the announce team in the booth Friday for a guest appearance. Leno will sit in the announce booth alongside veteran broadcaster Bill Patrick, analyst Steve Matchett and reporter Carolyn Manno.

NBCSN’s presentation of the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio begins with qualifying on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET. Live race coverage begins Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN, followed by a presentation of Race 2 of the Indy Lights series from Mid-Ohio at 6 p.m. ET.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey will call the Honda Indy 200.  Joining Diffey will be David Hobbs (analyst), Townsend Bell (analyst), Marty Snider, Kelli Stavast, Kevin Lee and Robin Miller (reporters). Lee will be joined by Anders Kohn and Jake Query to call the Indy Lights Mid-Ohio race.

NBC will air an encore presentation of the new reality show Mecum Dealmakers this Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. Mecum Dealmakers dovetails off of the Mecum Auctions series on NBCSN, and tells the story of President and Founder Dana Mecum and his son Frank Mecum. The father-son tandem works together to manage the high pressure of the auction floor, where buyers and sellers hope to make the deal of a lifetime, often with hundreds of thousands of dollars on the line.

NBC’s coverage of Red Bull Global RallyCross continues Sunday at 4 p.m. ET. Tes Sewell hosts the midseason recap, and will cover the five races that comprised the first half of the 2014 Red Bull GRC season.

 

GOLF

Golf Channel’s coverage of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational continues Saturday at 12 p.m. ET, and culminates Sunday at 12 p.m. ET with final round coverage.

Terry Gannon (play-by-play) leads Golf Channel’s team from Firestone Country Club.  Joining Gannon will be Nick Faldo (analyst), Peter Oosterhuis (tower), Phil Parkin (on course) and Gary McCord (on course) and Todd Lewis (interviews).

The PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship continues tonight at 6:30 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.  Saturday’s second round coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, and final round coverage begins Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on Golf Channel.

Golf Channel’s teams of Rich Lerner (play-by-play), Curt Byrum (analyst), Craig Perks (tower), Phil Blackmar (tower) and Jerry Foltz (on course) call the action from Montreux Golf and Country Club.

The Champions Tour 3M Championship continues Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, and culminates with final round coverage Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.

Golf Channel’s Brian Hammons calls the action from TPC Twin Cities.  Joining Watson will be Lanny Wadkins (analyst), Dave Marr (tower), John Mahaffey (tower), and Billy Ray Brown (on course).

 

SOCCER

NBC Sports Group’s coverage of five soccer matches this week continues tonight at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN with Sporting Kansas City vs. Philadelphia Union. Coverage of Saturday’s L.A. Galaxy vs. Portland Timbers game begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC. Saturday’s doubleheader on NBCSN begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with the International Champions Cup: Liverpool vs. AC Milan, followed by San Jose Earthquakes vs. Seattle Sounders at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Steve Cangialosi, announcer for the New York Red Bulls on MSG Network, handles play-by-play for Sporting Kansas City vs Philadelphia Union, joined by MSG Network analyst Shep Messing and CSN Mid-Atlantic anchor and reporter Rob Carlin.

NBC Sports Group’s lead MLS play-by-play announcer John Strong calls both L.A. vs Portland and San Jose vs Seattle on Saturday, joined by former USMNT midfielder Kyle Martino and host Russ Thaler for L.A.-Portland at StubHub Center in Los Angeles, Calif. Bolton Wanderers (U.K.’s Football League Championship) midfielder Stuart Holden, who played for the U.S. in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and CSN Bay Area host Jim Kozimor join Strong for San Jose-Seattle at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

NBC Sports Group’s lead Premier League announcer Arlo White (play by play) will be on site to call the International Champions Cup. Robbie Mustoe (analyst) will join White to call the action “between the benches.”

 

HORSERACING

NBC Sport Group presents the “Summer at Saratoga: Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series.” Coverage of the Whitney Invitational at Saratoga begins Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on NBC.

Tom Hammond (host) leads the team calling the action from Saratoga Race Track. Joining Hammond will be analysts Randy Moss and Jerry Bailey, as well as reporters Donna Brothers and Eddie Olczyk.

 

HALL OF FAME GAME

Sunday Night Football, television’s No. 1 primetime program, kicks off the NFL’s 2014 preseason schedule with the NFL/Hall of Fame Game Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Calling the Bills-Giants from Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio is NBC’s Emmy Award winning Sunday Night Football team of Al Michaels (play-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst) and Michele Tafoya (reporter).
