Burr Ridge, Ill. – July 31, 2014 – NBC Sports Group continues the 10th Anniversary season of the Dew Tour, with the Toyota City Championships in Portland, Ore., August 16 – 17. With many of the world’s best athletes in BMX and skateboarding confirmed for the second stop of the 2014 Dew Tour schedule, the Toyota City Championships will take over Broadway street and the surrounding downtown Portland area all weekend long.

“We are excited to bring our new streetstyle format to one of the Dew Tour’s longest-standing host cities,” said Eric Grilly, President, Alli Sports. “With a mix of sports and disciplines, a live DJ set, and multiple points for consumers to interact with the athletes and brands, this weekend of free events truly has something for everyone.”

For the first time in Portland, the two-day street-oriented competition will take place on Broadway street, as riders compete in front of the urban downtown backdrop. Competitions will include BMX streetstyle, BMX dirt, skateboard streetstyle and skate best trick. The distinctive course will combine real-life street obstacles with reinforced structures to provide competitors with an exciting redesign from previous years.

Fans can expect to see two-time defending skateboard streetstyle champion Ryan Sheckler fight for his title against local favorite David Gravette, and up and comer Curren Caples. In the BMX streetstyle competition, all eyes will turn to Garrett Reynolds, Chad Kerley and Drew Bezanson as they battle it out. In addition, former BMX dirt champion Kyle Baldock will take on a roster of competitors in the BMX Dirt Session. A full list of confirmed athletes can be found at

“I’m excited to showcase this new streetstyle discipline to the fans in Portland,” said Bezanson. “We’re bringing something really fresh to a city with deep roots in the action sports culture. I can’t think of a better way to kick off the two-stop Toyota City Championships.”

On Saturday, August 16, a free, hour-long DJ performance will set the tone for an exciting night of BMX Dirt Finals. Exmag will spin their latest hits in front of a crowd right at the dirt course, as the athletes fine-tune their best tricks leading into the contest.
