KENTUCKY DERBY COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend coverage of the Kentucky Derby begins today at 3 p.m. ET, with the Kentucky Oaks on NBCSN, continuing Saturday at Noon ET, with the Kentucky Derby Pre-show.

Race coverage begins Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on NBC.

NBC Sports Group coverage of the Kentucky Derby features 25-time Emmy Award-winner Bob Costas; veteran NBC Sports commentator Tom Hammond; analyst Randy Moss; Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey; analysts/handicappers Mike Battaglia and Bob Neumeier; NBCSN host/NBC reporter Laffit Pincay, III; reporters Kenny Rice, Donna Brothers and Jay Privman; and race caller Larry Collmus. Josh Elliott makes his NBC Sports Group debut May 2-3, providing a mix of features and interviews at Churchill Downs. Carolyn Manno makes her Kentucky Derby debut, as do Olympic figure skaters and NBC figure skating analysts Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski, who serve as fashion experts.

HOCKEY COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend coverage of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begins on NBCSN tonight at 7 p.m. ET, when the New York Rangers hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins, followed by the Minnesota Wild taking on the Chicago Blackhawks at 9:30 p.m. ET. Kenny Albert and Pierre McGuire call New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh, and Dave Strader and Brian Engblom are on site in Chicago.

Coverage continues Saturday on NBC at 12:30 p.m. ET, when the Montreal Canadiens face the Boston Bruins. At 8 p.m. ET, NBCSN features Game 1 of the Los Angeles Kings–Anaheim Ducks series. Mike Emrick, Eddie Olczyk and Pierre McGuire call the action in Boston, while John Forslund and Joe Micheletti are on site in Anaheim.

On Sunday, NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage begins on NBC at 3 p.m. ET, with Game 2 of the Minnesota Wild–Chicago Blackhawks series, followed by New York vs. Pittsburgh at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Emrick, Olczyk and McGuire handle coverage in Chicago, while Strader and Engblom have the call from Pittsburgh.

Liam McHugh hosts NHL Live and NHL Overtime, along with Mike Milbury and former player Keith Jones on Friday, with Milbury and Jones joined by Jeremy Roenick on Saturday. Kathryn Tappen, Roenick and Jones host Sunday’s NHL Live and NHL Overtime.

PREMIER LEAGUE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend Premier League coverage begins Saturday at 7 a.m. ET on NBCSN with Premier League Live followed by West Ham v. Tottenham at 7:45 a.m. ET and Manchester United v. Sunderland  at 10 a.m. ET, and continuing with Everton v. Manchester City  at 12:30 p.m. ET on CNBC. All matches not shown on NBCSN in the Saturday 10 a.m. ET window will be available on Premier League Extra Time, a bonus television package available to MVPDs at no extra cost for customers who receive NBCSN. Lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White is joined by Lee Dixon for the call from Goodison Park for Everton-Manchester City.

On Sunday, NBCSN’s Premier League coverage begins at 8 a.m. ET with Premier League Live followed by Arsenal v. West Bromwich Albion at 8:30 a.m. ET, Chelsea v. Norwich at 11 a.m. ET and Premier League Goal Zone at 1 p.m. ET. White is joined by Graeme Le Saux to call Chelsea-Norwich City Sunday on NBCSN.

Weekend coverage concludes with NBCSN’s Match of the Day II at 1:30 p.m. ET, on NBCSN, hosted by Rebecca Lowe, former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe, and Jamaican National Team player Robbie Earle.

RUGBY: VARSITY CUP

NBCSN will present live coverage of the 2014 Varsity Cup National Rugby Collegiate Championship this Saturday at 4 p.m. ET, as BYU takes on Cal in the championship match at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.

Veteran play-by-play announcer Todd Harris will call Saturday’s match, alongside former USA Sevens captain and USA Rugby World Cup participant Brian HightowerMarty Snider will handle sideline reporting duties.

MLS

NBCSN’s Major League Soccer coverage this weekend features last season’s MLS Cup champion Sporting Kansas City hosting Columbus Crew on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Group’s lead play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the match joined former U.S. National Team midfielder Kyle Martino. Comcast SportsNet New England and NBCSN analyst Dalen Cuff hosts studio coverage.
