MOTORSPORTS COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend Formula One coverage begins 5 p.m. ET, Friday, with a new F1 Countdown on NBCSN.

Live weekend coverage of the Chinese Grand Prix begins with qualifying at 2 a.m. ET, on Saturday. NBCSN will re-air the qualifying race Sunday morning at 2 a.m. ET, prior to live coverage of the Chinese Grand Prix at 2:30 a.m. ET, and F1 Extra at 5 a.m. ET.

Lead F1 announcer Leigh Diffey, along with veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, and analyst and former Benetton F1 team mechanic Steve Matchett, will call the Chinese Grand Prix. F1 insider Will Buxton will serve as the team’s on-site reporter from the Shanghai International Circuit.

 

HOCKEY COVERAGE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend coverage of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begins on CNBC tonight at 7 p.m. ET, when the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Montreal Canadians. Coverage continues on NBCSN when the Detroit Red Wings take on the Boston Bruins at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Dallas Stars facing the Anaheim Ducks at 10 p.m. ET. Russ Thaler and Anson Carter call Montreal vs. Tampa Bay; Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick and Pierre McGuire are on site at Boston’s TD Garden; and John Walton and Butch Goring cover the Dallas vs. Anaheim game.

Coverage continues Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, on NBC, when the Chicago Blackhawks face the St. Louis Blues. At 7 p.m. ET, NBCSN features game two of the Columbus Blue Jackets–Pittsburgh Penguins series, followed by the Minnesota Wild vs. Colorado Avalanche at 9:30 p.m. ET. Dave Strader, Bryan Engblom and Eddie Olczyk call the action in St. Louis; Gord Miller and McGuire handle coverage from Pittsburgh; and John Forslund and Tripp Tracy are on site at Colorado’s Pepsi Center.

On Sunday, NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage begins on NBC at Noon ET, with game two of the Philadelphia Flyers–New York Rangers series, followed by Detroit vs. Boston at 3 p.m. ET. NBCSN’s coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET, with game three of the Tampa Bay–Montreal series, and concludes with the Los Angeles Kings vs. the San Jose Sharks at 10 p.m. ET. Kenny Albert and Joe Micheletti have the call from New York, and Emrick, McGuire and Olczyk handle coverage in Boston.

Liam McHugh hosts NHL Live and NHL Overtime, along with by former players Jeremy Roenick and Keith Jones on Friday, and Thaler, Milbury and Roenick on Saturday. Kathryn Tappen, Jones and Anson Carter host Sunday’s NHL Live and NHL Overtime.

 

PREMIER LEAGUE

NBC Sports Group’s weekend Premier League coverage begins Saturday at 7 a.m. ET on NBCSN with Premier League Live followed by Tottenham v. Fulham at 7:45 a.m. ET, and Cardiff City v. Stoke City at 10 a.m. ET. At 12:30 p.m. ET, NBC features Chelsea v. Sunderland, followed by Premier League Goal Zone at 2:30 p.m. ET.

On Sunday, NBCSN’s Premier League coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. ET with Premier League Live followed by Norwich v. Liverpool at 7 a.m. ET, Hull City v. Arsenal at 9  a.m., and Everton v. Manchester United at 11:05 a.m. ET. Weekend coverage concludes with NBCSN’s Match of the Day II at 1:30 p.m. ET, on NBCSN, hosted by Rebecca Lowe, former Premier League footballer Robbie Mustoe, and Jamaican National Team player Robbie Earle.

Jim Beglin joins lead Premier League play-by-play announcer Arlo White to call Saturday’s Chelsea v. Sunderland game from Stamford Bridge. All matches will be preceded and followed by Premier League Live pre- and post-match shows hosted by Lowe, Mustoe and Earle from the NBC Sports Group International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn.
