Live From the Masters, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. ET (taken from morning session)

Augusta National Golf Club

Augusta, Ga.

On the Masters:

Brandel Chamblee (@chambleebrandel) – “This is a marvelous blend of traditions – what was and what is right now.”

Frank Nobilo (@FrankNobiloGC) – “Non-golfers watch the Masters, and that’s where our sport elevates to a different level.”

On Honorary Starters Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player:

Nobilo – “Our kids grow up way too quick and our legends, they grow old far too quick.”

On whether a green jacket could possibly end up in Ian Poulter’s closet:

Nobilo – “It would fit all the other colors in his wardrobe.”

On how steady players win major championships:

Chamblee – “Ask Nick Faldo.  Just hang around.  Wait for people to make mistakes.  You don’t have to do anything extraordinary.  Other people might make mistakes.  So many major champions were that type of player.”

On Augusta National Golf Club:

Chamblee – “It’s a very demanding, daunting golf course that mixes your emotions.  You have to be bold, you have to be patient and you have to be so precise.”

On importance of putting at Augusta National Golf Club:

Nobilo – “Even if you played well here in the past, and even though this is a better second-shot course than anyone ever gives it credit for, it’s still predicated so much by putting well.  If Adam Scott does not putt well this week, he doesn’t win.  It doesn’t matter who you are.  You could hit every green in regulation and you won’t win.”

On why major championships cannot be over-hyped:

Nobilo – “Sometimes it sounds like we overblow the importance of major championships but, every single player in the locker room, you can’t overdo it for them.  They know this opportunity – as a kid you dream about it whether it’s a putt for an Open Championship or U.S. Open.  But so many of the kids growing up, it was a putt for the Masters.”
