COMCAST SPORTSNET TO KICK OFF 6-GAME NFL PRESEASON SCHEDULE WITH REDSKINS, RAVENS OPENERS AUG. 8

EXCLUSIVE HD COVERAGE OF REDSKINS AT TITANS TO AIR LIVE AT 8 PM, FOLLOWED BY RAVENS AT BUCCANEERS 

COMPREHENSIVE NEWS AND ANALYSIS TO SURROUND ALL PRESEASON MATCH-UPS 

Bethesda, Md. (Aug. 1, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic will kick off its six-game 2013 NFL preseason schedule Aug. 8 with live, exclusive high-definition (HD) coverage of the Washington Redskins’ preseason opener at Tennessee at 8 p.m., followed by delayed coverage of the Baltimore Ravens’ opening game at Tampa Bay at 12:30 a.m.

Comcast SportsNet will provide more than four hours of comprehensive news and analysis surrounding the preseason doubleheader, beginning with a special one-hour Geico SportsNet Central at 6 p.m. Redskins Kickoff, the three-time Emmy Award-winning pre-game show, will be presented live at 7 p.m., with Redskins Postgame Live and Geico SportsNet Central scheduled immediately following the Redskins-Titans game at approximately 11 p.m. Ravens Postgame Live will follow the network’s delayed coverage of the Ravens-Buccaneers game.

Comcast SportsNet will deliver a total of four live Redskins and Ravens games this preseason, as well as two delayed presentations and multiple encores of all six contests. The network’s three-game schedule of live Redskins coverage –available in HD exclusively on Comcast SportsNet – also includes games against Buffalo on Aug. 24 (4:30 p.m.) and at Tampa Bay on Aug. 29 (7:30 p.m.), their final preseason contest. The network’s Ravens schedule, which includes three games, is highlighted by live coverage of their home opener against Atlanta on Aug. 15 (7:30 p.m.)

Comcast SportsNet’s coverage of Redskins preseason games, which is co-produced by the Redskins Broadcast Network, has been honored with consecutive Capital Region Emmy Awards for best live sporting event (2011 and 2012.) Led by producer Rich Wolff, this year’s coverage will feature analyst Joe Theismann and sideline reporter Antwaan Randle El, with veteran announcer Kenny Albert (Aug. 8 at Tennessee and Aug. 29 at Tampa Bay) and Comcast SportsNet’s Chick Hernandez (Aug. 24 vs. Buffalo) alternating as play-by-play announcers. The Ravens’ preseason on-air team is comprised of play-by-play announcer Gerry Sandusky and analysts Qadry Ismail and Stan White.

Comcast SportsNet’s coverage of the NFL preseason games will include extensive news and analysis surrounding each contest. Redskins Kickoff and Redskins Postgame Live will air for an hour before and after each Redskins game on Comcast SportsNet. The shows will feature Hernandez and analysts Brian Mitchell and Trevor Matich, with reporting from Rob Carlin and Tarik El-Bashir. Ravens Postgame Live will air for a half hour after each Ravens preseason game on the network, with Ravens Kickoff leading into live coverage of the Ravens-Falcons game on Aug.15.
