STAMFORD, Conn. – June 27, 2013 – Former writer Nick Zaccardi has joined as the lead writer for OlympicTalk in advance of the site’s coverage of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. NBC has the U.S. media rights to all Olympic Games from 2014-2020.

OlympicTalk is an extension of’s SportsTalk strategy, which provides fans with quick, frequently-updated news and information with a unique perspective. Zaccardi, who will cover the Sochi Olympics on-site in Russia, wrote his first posts for OlympicTalk this week

Zaccardi’s Olympic expertise includes covering two Olympic Games as well as time spent with the United States Olympics Committee. He wrote extensive pieces for Sports Illustrated’s leading into the London Olympic Games, including connecting with the then-most decorated Olympian of all time, former Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina.

A University of Florida graduate, Zaccardi comes to NBC Sports Group following stints with,, and He has also covered college football and basketball national championship teams, the NHL Winter Classic, the Kentucky Derby, a Champions League final and Grand Slam tennis.
