THE ‘LIGHTS

INDYCAR 500

The premier of IndyCar 36 featuring record-breaking driver Simona de Silvestro airs at 10:30 p.m. ET Friday night on NBC Sports Network.

Legendary motorsports voice Bob Jenkins returns to the booth for Carb Day on Friday, May 24, filling in for Diffey, who will be at Monaco. Jenkins will be joined by Beekhuis and race analyst and former NASCAR driver Wally Dallenbach, Jr. Veterans Lee Snider and Miller will manage the pits. Mike King will call Indy Lights on Friday, May 24, alongside Jack QueryJenkins, Diane Willis and Lee will host Indy 500 Parade coverage on Saturday, May 25 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

Stadium Super Trucks will air on NBC Sports Network at 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 25. Brian TillChuck Howard, and Kelli Stavast will host coverage.  

AMA Motocross will air live on NBC Sports Network at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 25. Jeff WeigandtJeff Emig, and Kelli Stavast will host coverage from Denver, Colo.

NHL CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

Coverage of the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs continues tonight with the Pittsburgh Penguins hosting the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 (Pittsburgh leads the series 3-1). The Penguins can win the series and move on to the Eastern Conference Finals with a victory. Kenny Albert will call play-by-play alongside analyst Brian Engblom from Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Coverage begins on NBC Sports Network at 6:30 p.m. ET with NHL Live hosted by Liam McHugh, Jeremy Roenick and Keith Jones.

On Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, NBC presents Game 5 between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks (Detroit leads 3-1). A win for the Red Wings would allow them to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick will serve as play-by-play announcer and will be joined by analyst Eddie Olczyk and Emmy Award-winning ‘Inside-the-Glass’ reporter Pierre McGuire, at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.

At 5:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network, the Boston Bruins host the New York Rangers as they look to close out the series with a win (Boston leads 3-1).  Dave Strader will manage play-by-play, alongside analyst Brian Engblom, from TD Garden in Boston, Mass.

Coverage begins on NBC Sports Network at 5 p.m. ET with NHL Live hosted by Liam McHugh, Jeremy Roenick and Keith Jones.

adidas GRAND PRIX

NBC presents live coverage of the adidas Grand Prix this Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. Highlighting the field includes Olympian and triple World Champion (100m, 200m, 4x100m relay) Tyson Gay running in the men’s 100m. The women’s 400m includes both Olympians and World Champions, and is headlined by 2012 Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross. In the men’s 800m, Kenyan world-record holder David Rudisha looks to continue his dominance on the track, and in women’s pole vault, American and reigning Olympic gold medalist Jenn Suhr looks to set an indoor world record.

Announcer Tom Hammond will be joined by track and field analysts Ato Boldon, Dwight Stones and Lewis Johnson at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island in New York, N.Y.

PGA TOUR: SENIOR PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

NBC Sports Group will air 12 live hours of the first major championship of the 2013 senior golf season and the oldest event on the Champions Tour – The Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid – headlined by an international field of major champions, Hall-of-Famers and Ryder Cup captains. NBC will provide coverage from 3-6 p.m. ET. on (what day/s)

The star-studded international field includes Hall of Famers and Ryder Cup Captains Tom Watson, Bernhard Langer, Tom Kite, Curtis Strange Lanny Wadkins; fellow Ryder Cup Captains Hal Sutton, Mark James and Ian Woosnam; and major champions Mark Brooks, Mark Calcavecchia, Steve Elkington, Larry Mize, Andy North, Mark O’Meara, Jerry Pate, Scott Simpson, Jeff Sluman, Bob Tway and 2012 defending champion Roger Chapman.

Host Dave Marr III and analyst Gary Koch will anchor Golf Channel’s early round coverage, with Dan Hicks assuming play-by-play duties alongside Koch on Saturday and Sunday. They will be joined all four rounds by tower reporter Mark Rolfing, course reporters Roger Maltbie and Curt Byrum and interviewer/essayist Jimmy Roberts. Marr also will report throughout the week for GOLF CENTRAL, Golf Channel’s daily news program.

FORMULA ONE: GRAND PRIX OF MONACO

For the first time, Formula One’s famed Monaco Grand Prix will air live on network television Sunday, May 26 at 7:30 a.m. ET on NBC. Coverage will begin with a live pre-race show at 7 a.m. ET on NBC Sports Network, and conclude with F1 Extra, NBC Sports Network’s half-hour post-race show, live from Monaco. Live coverage begins tomorrow  at 8 a.m. ET, with F1 qualifying from Monaco. In addition, NBC Sports Network will air two GP2 races, F1’s developmental series, at 12 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 26.

NBC Sports Group’s F1 announce booth will be on site to capture the unique glitz-and-glamor atmosphere of the Monaco Grand Prix. Leigh Diffey will serve as lead race announcer alongside veteran analyst and former racecar driver David Hobbs, analyst and former race mechanic for the Benetton F1 team Steve Matchett and F1 insider and former journalist Will Buxton. Diffey will precede his work in Monaco by calling Indy 500 qualifying coverage.

FRENCH OPEN

NBC’s coverage begins this Sunday at Noon ET, with live opening-round coverage, and culminates with the Women’s Final on June 8 and the Men’s Final on June 9. In all, NBC will broadcast 27 hours from Roland Garros, including coverage on the first Monday of play for the first time (Monday, May 27).

Host Ted Robinson anchors NBC’s coverage and will be joined by analysts John McEnroe and Mary Carillo. McEnroe and Carillo teamed to win the mixed doubles title at the 1977 French Open.

MLS: HOUSTON AT KANSAS CITY

NBC Sports Network’s Major League Soccer coverage this Saturday features the Sporting Kansas City (6-4-3) hosting the Houston Dynamo (6-4-2) at 3:30 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports Group’s MLS announce team of Arlo White (play-by-play) and Kyle Martino (‘Between-the-Benches’) and Rob Carlin (analyst) will host coverage from Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan.
