THE ‘LIGHTS
Tonight, NHL Live, hosted by Liam McHugh, Jeremy Roenick and Keith Jones, begins at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network. Bill Patrick and Mike Keenan will host CNBC’s studio coverage.
Playoff coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET tonight on NBC Sports Network when the Pittsburgh Penguins host the N.Y. Islanders at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Penguins lead the series 1-0 after a shutout in Game 1. Kenny Albert will call play-by-play alongside analyst Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’). NBC Sports Network’s coverage continues with the Chicago Blackhawks hosting the Minnesota Wild in Game 2. Chicago leads the series 1-0 after an overtime win. Dave Strader will manage play-by-play duties and will be joined by analyst Brian Engblom from the United Center, Chicago, Ill.
On CNBC at 7 p.m. ET, Ottawa takes on Montreal at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, in Game 2. Ottawa leads 1-0 after a physical start to the series. Then at 10 p.m., the San Jose Sharks will face off against the Vancouver Canucks as they look to extend their series lead on the road at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C. (Sharks 1-0). CSN California’s Randy Hahn will serve as play-by-play announcer alongside analysts Drew Remenda and Brodie Brazil.
Saturday, May 4, NBC drops the puck on its NHL playoff coverage at 12:30 p.m. ET with the New York Rangers at the Washington Capitals in Game 2 of the series (Capitals lead 1-0). Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick will call play-by-play alongside analysts Eddie Olczyk and Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’) from Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
At 7 p.m. ET on CNBC, the Boston Bruins take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 2 at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. (Bruins lead 1-0). Russ Thaler and Anson Carter will host CNBC’s studio coverage.
On NBC Sports Network at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Detroit Red Wings look to win on home ice against the Anaheim Ducks (series tied 1-1). Rick Peckham will handle play-by-play alongside analyst Joe Micheletti from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.
Continuing on NBC Sports Network at 10 p.m. ET, the Los Angeles Kings hope to change the momentum in Game 3 of the series as they take on the St. Louis Blues (Blues lead 2-0). John Forslund will manage play-by-play duties alongside analyst Daryl Reaugh.
NHL Live will provide post-game insights and analysis from host Liam McHugh and analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones.
On Sunday, May 5, playoff coverage begins on NBC at noon ET with the Pittsburgh Penguins traveling to New York to take on the Islanders in Game 3 of the series. Dave Strader will call play-by-play alongside analyst Brian Engblom from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. Then, Chicago Blackhawks challenge the Minnesota Wild at 3 p.m. Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick will call play-by-play alongside analysts Eddie Olczyk and Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’) from Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn.
NBC Sports Network presents back-to-back Game 3s beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday night when the Montreal Canadiens venture to Ottawa to take on the Senators at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, followed by the San Jose Sharks hosting the Vancouver Canucks at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. Randy Hahn will serve as play-by-play announcer alongside analysts Drew Remenda, Brodie Brazil and Bret Hedican.
NBC Sports Group presents 8.5 hours of Kentucky Derby coverage this Saturday May 4, beginning at 11 a.m. on NBC Sports Network and continuing at 4 p.m. ET on NBC with the 130th running of the Kentucky Derby.
NBC Sports Group coverage of the Kentucky Derby will feature co-hosts Bob Costas, a 24-time Emmy Award-winner, and veteran NBC Sports commentator Tom Hammond; analysts Randy Moss and Hall-of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey; analysts/handicappers Mike Battaglia and Bob Neumeier; NBC Sports Network host Laffit Pincay, III; reporters Kenny Rice, Donna Brothers and Jay Privman; and race caller Larry Collmus. Michelle Beadle of Access Hollywood and co-host of The Crossover on NBC Sports Network, will provide features and interviews, and Coco Rocha, supermodel coach on Oxygen’s The Face, will talk Kentucky Derby fashions.
NBC Sports Network’s Major League Soccer coverage this weekend features the Columbus Crew (3-2-3, 12 pts.) hosting the New York Red Bulls (4-4-2, 14 pts.) on Saturday, May 4, at 4 p.m. ET.
NBC Sports Group’s MLS announce team of Arlo White (play-by-play), Kyle Martino (‘Between-the-Benches’) and Brent Harris (analyst) will host coverage from Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
NBC Sports Network continues coverage of the 2013 IZOD IndyCar series this weekend, with the Sao Paulo Indy 300 live on Sunday, May 5, at 11 a.m. ET. Coverage begins on Sunday, May 5, at 1 a.m. with qualifying. IndyCar 36 returns at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday with an inside look at Charlie Kimball, the first licensed driver with diabetes in the history of IndyCar to compete at the most elite level of the series.
IZOD IndyCar Series leader Helio Castroneves returns to his hometown of Sao Paulo as he aims to extend his series lead against Japanese driver Takuma Sato, who ranks second after a win at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Three-time defending Sao Paulo champion Will Power drives for a fourth straight win in Brazil, while 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series champion and Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay looks to get back in the winner’s circle.
NBC Sports Network’s IndyCar booth features lead voice Leigh Diffey, analyst Townsend Bell, and reporters Jon Beekhuis and Robin Miller covering from Indianapolis, Ind. Veteran Kevin Lee will report from pit road in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
