SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 14, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet California, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” presents a comprehensive, in-depth analysis of the 2013 MLB season for the reigning American League West Champion Oakland Athletics with a half-hour special – 2013 A’s Season Preview premiering Monday, March 18 at 10 p.m.
Hosted by veteran sports announcer Scott Reiss (@ScottReissCSN), 2013 A’s Season Preview features extensive preview and analysis from former A’s infielders Shooty Babbitt and Bip Roberts (@Bipster10), along with CSNCalifornia.com A’s Insider Casey Pratt (@CaseyPrattCSN) and A’s reporter Kate Longworth (@KLongworthCSN).
Headlining the program will be 2012 A.L. Manager of the Year Bob Melvin, who joins Longworth in a sit-down interview as he discusses the team’s plan to emulate last season’s success; plus, 2013 A’s Season Preview features insightful interviews with Gold Glove outfielder Josh Reddick, 11-year veteran Coco Crisp and second-year sensation Yoenis Céspedes, as they share their goals and desire to repeat as A.L. West Champions. Other A’s included in the program are Opening Day starter Brett Andersen, newly acquired outfielder Chris Young and projected starting shortstop Hiro Nakajima.

Comcast SportsNet California will air its first spring training telecast on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. as the A’s host the Chicago White Sox at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. The network will air two additional preseason games, one from Phoenix Municipal Stadium against the Los Angeles Dodgers (March 24) and a Bay Bridge Series game against the reigning World Series Champion San Francisco Giants from the Oakland Coliseum (March 30).
Comcast SportsNet California’s first of 143 regular season telecasts begins with the A’s season opener against A.L. West Division rival Seattle Mariners from the Oakland Coliseum on Monday, April 1 at 7 p.m.
