SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 7, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” presents a comprehensive, in-depth analysis of the 2013 MLB season for the reigning World Series Champion San Francisco Giants with a half-hour special – 2013 Giants Season Preview premiering Monday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by veteran sports announcer and three-time California Sportscaster of the Year Greg Papa, 2013 Giants Season Preview features extensive preview and analysis from Comcast SportsNet’s Giants analyst duo of former Giants pitchers Vida Blue and Bill Laskey (@Laskey19), along with CSNBayArea.com Giants Insider Andrew Baggarly (@CSNBaggs) and Comcast SportsNet anchors/reporters Ahmed Fareed (@AhmedFareedCSN) and Mindi Bach (@MBachCSN).

Headlining the program will be three-time All-Star and Opening Day starter Matt Cain, who joins Fareed in a sit-down interview as he shares his thoughts and high expectations for the upcoming season; plus, 2013 Giants Season Preview features interviews with 2012 N.L. MVP Buster Posey and four-time All-Star and two-time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum, as they discuss their goals for the upcoming season and what it’s going to take to defend their world championship crown.  Other Giants included in the program are manager Bruce Bochy, playoff hero Barry Zito, reliever Sergio Romo and first baseman Brandon Belt.

 Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will air its first spring training telecast on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. as the Giants host the San Diego Padres at Scottsdale Stadium.  The network will air two additional preseason games, one from Scottsdale Stadium against the Oakland A’s (March 23) and a Bay Bridge Series game against the A’s at AT&TPark (March 28).

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s first of 140 regular season telecasts begins with the Giants season opener against N.L. West rival Los Angeles Dodgers from Dodger Stadium on Monday, April 1 at 1 p.m.  Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will air the Giants home opener against the 2012 N.L. Wildcard Champion St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, April 5 at 1:30 p.m.
