GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS POST INCREASED TV RATINGS FOR FIRST HALF OF SEASON ON COMCAST SPORTSNET BAY AREA

Warriors Household Ratings Up 49% Compared to 2011-12 Viewership

Increased Ratings Registered in Key Advertising Demographics,

Warriors Pregame Live and Warriors Postgame Live

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 13, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” has registered significant rating increases for its Golden State Warriors telecasts during the first half of the 2012-13 NBA season.  Through 50 games this season, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area is averaging a 2.68 household rating, which is equal to an estimated 67,132 households in the San Francisco DMA (San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose) watching per game, a 49 percent increase over the 1.80 average household rating posted at the end of the 2011-12 season.

Additional highlights from the first half of the season include:

  • Of the 50 Warriors games televised on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, 12 telecasts have been #1 in average households during the market time period and 16 other broadcasts have been ranked #2.
  • The December 22 Warriors/Lakers game registered a season-high 4.99 average household rating (approx. 124,850 households) – the highest rated Warriors game since the 07-08 season (3/24/08, Warriors/Lakers 5.73).
  • Ratings in key advertising demographics have posted increased numbers, including Adults 18-49 (1.68 avg., up 41% from 2011-12), Adults 25-54 (1.44 avg., up 33% from 2011-12), Men 18-49 (2.37 avg., up 40% from 2011-12) and Men 25-54 (2.06 avg., up 29% from 2011-12).
  • In addition, Warriors Pregame Live (up 42% from 2011-12) and Warriors Postgame Live (up 28% from 2011-12) have delivered significant rating gains.

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s next Warriors telecast is Tuesday, February 19 against the Utah Jazz (pre-game coverage gets underway with Warriors Pregame Live at 5:30 p.m. with tip-off at 6 p.m.).
