SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 8, 2013) – Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” today announced its comprehensive coverage of the 2012 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants for the 2013 Major League Baseball season, which will include 143 games (140 regular season, 3 exhibition), pre- and post- game shows, in-depth nightly news coverage and complete 24/7 online Giants coverage on CSNBayArea.com.

 

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will present the Giants season opener on Monday, April 1 at 1 p.m. against N.L. West rival Los Angeles Dodgers from Dodger Stadium and the home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday, April 5 at 1:30 p.m.

 

Extensive Giants coverage on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area against playoff contenders include four contests against the 2012 N.L. Wildcard Champion St. Louis Cardinals (April 5, 7; May 31, June 2), seven games against the 2012 N.L. Central Champion Cincinnati Reds (July 1,  2,  3,  4,  22,  23, 24), six matchups versus the 2012 N.L. East Champion Washington Nationals (May 20,  21, 22; August 13, 14, 15), plus 13 games against the Los Angeles Dodgers (April 1,  2,  3; May 4; June 24, 25; July 7; September 12, 13, 15, 24, 25, 26).  Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s Giants telecasts feature the Emmy Award winning broadcast team of Duane Kuiper (play-by-play) and Mike Krukow (color analyst), who will be joined by Amy Gutierrez (@AmyGGiants, field reporter) during home games.  Jon Miller and Dave Flemming will join Comcast SportsNet Bay Area for select Giants telecasts.

 

Giants interleague action includes games against the 2012 A.L. West Champion Oakland Athletics (May 27, 28, 30), 2012 A.L. East Champion New York Yankees (September 20, 21, 22), 2012 A.L. Wildcard Champion Baltimore Orioles (August 11) and Boston Red Sox (August 20, 21).

 

In addition to the 140 regular season games, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will telecast three preseason games, two from Scottsdale Stadium against the San Diego Padres (March 12) and the Oakland A’s (March 23), and a Bay Bridge Series game against the A’s at AT&T Park (March 28).

 

Prior to the games, Giants Pregame Live will provide a preview of the upcoming contest, exclusive pregame interviews, feature stories on Giants players and the latest team news. Immediately following the game, Giants Postgame Live will provide in-depth game analysis, game highlights, clubhouse interviews from coaches and players, player reaction and a preview of the next contest.

 

The KNBR 680 A.M. “Post-Game Wrap” simulcast returns for a sixth season on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area following home games featuring Jon Miller, Duane Kuiper, Mike Krukow and Dave Flemming.

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area brings back the popular Say Hey Tuesday, live shows on location from AT&T Park.  Before every Tuesday night home game that the network broadcasts, Chronicle Live at 5 p.m. and Giants Pregame Live at 6:30 p.m. will originate from Willie Mays Plaza.  The general public is encouraged to attend the live broadcasts.  The first Say Hey Tuesday of the season is scheduled for April 9, prior to the Colorado Rockies games.

 

For approximately 24 hours following each game, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area’s Giants telecasts will be available on XFINITY On Demand.
