Tim Brown Interview with NBC Sports’ Erik Kuselias regarding Brown’s Super Bowl XXXVII claims.

Tim Brown spoke by phone today with NBC Sports’ Erik Kuselias regarding Brown’s Super Bowl XXXVII claims.

Portions of the interview aired today within Pro Football Talk, which airs on NBC Sports Network from 5-6 p.m. ET. The interview will air tonight in full on NBC Sports Radio within The Erik Kuselias Show, which airs from 7-10 p.m. ET.

Following is an exchange from the Kuselias and Brown interview:

Kuselias: “Is your best guess that Bill Callahan was incompetent or Bill Callahan was trying not to win the game?”

Brown: “Wow. I can’t say the man was incompetent, because he was far from that. If I’m going to say he was one of the smartest offense coaches I’ve ever been around, then I certainly can’t come back now and call him incompetent.

“Any decision you make, you have to know there are going to be positive outcomes and negative outcomes. So you only leave me with one other choice and I’m going to have to take the latter of the two choices.

“I don’t think that he was incompetent, that’s not who Bill Callahan is, he is a very good football coach. I had been (playing) with the guy for five years at that point and the one thing you can’t put with Bill Callahan is incompetence.”
