TONY ROMO, COLIN KAEPERNICK AND J.J. WATT FEATURED IN WEEK 15 EDITION OF “NFL TURNING POINT”

Airs Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network In-Depth Look at Week 15 Matchups Between 49ers – Patriots, Steelers – Cowboys Spotlight Look at J.J. Watt and the Houston Texans

New York – December 18, 2012 – Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, NBC Sports Network’s weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, airs this Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET. In this week’s episode: NFL Turning Point examines Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys overtime victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers; Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers win over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and a spotlight look at Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt, and the remarkable season that both he and the 12-2 Texans are having.

 

In addition, Football Night In America’s Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison will break down the keys to this Sunday night’s 49ersSeahawks matchup, airing on NBC.

 

Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program airs throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

 

–          An in-depth look at Steelers – Cowboys, and how Tony Romo led Dallas to an overtime victory. NFL Turning Point examines Romo’s ability to connect with WR Miles Austin and TE Jason Witten throughout the game, and how Steelers WR Antonio Brown’s fumble with 10-minutes left in the fourth quarter proved to be a turning point in the game. In addition, the segment examines Cowboys CB Brandon Carr’s interception in overtime, and his 36-yard return that set up Dallas’ game-winning field goal.

 

–          NFL Turning Point also explores 49ers – Patriots, and how the NFL’s No. 1 scoring defense matched up against the league’s No. 1 scoring offense on Sunday Night Football. The segment examines how Colin Kaepernick was able to direct San Francisco to an early 31-3 lead, and the efforts of the 49ers defensive unit and special teams that contributed to San Francisco’s victory. NFLFilms breaks down the fourth quarter play of both teams, including 49ers RB LaMichael James’ 62-yard kickoff return that led to WR Michael Crabtree’s game-winning touchdown.

 

–          This week’s edition of NFL Turning Point also shines a spotlight on Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt and the remarkable season that he and the Texans are having. The segment features highlights from Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, and in-game audio from Watt’s previous games this season.

 

–          Football Night In America’s Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy will breakdown the keys to this Sunday’s 49ers – Seahawks matchup.

 

Each week NFL Turning Point is built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and focuses on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. Earlier this year NFL Films and NBC Sports Group agreed to renew the Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, through the 2014 season. This year, NBC Sports Network is airing a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVII.
