NBC SPORTS NETWORK AIRS MLS WESTERN & EASTERN CONFERENCE MATCHUPS THIS WEEKEND IN PRIMETIME

NEW YORK – Sept. 26, 2012 – NBC Sports Network will broadcast two MLS games this weekend in primetime when the top two Eastern Conference teams, #1 Sporting Kansas City and #2 Chicago Fire, take to the LIVESTRONG Sporting Park field in Kansas City, Kan., on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET. Saturday’s match will feature the Western Conference’s #4 Seattle Sounders FC against #5 Vancouver Whitecaps FC live from BC Place in Vancouver at 9 p.m. ET. Additionally, an all-new episode of MLS 36 featuring the Portland Timbers young phenom Darlington Nagbe airs Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. on NBC Sports Network.

MLS 36: NBC Sports Network’s next episode of MLS 36 will feature Darlington Nagbe, the star midfielder for the Portland Timbers, and follows him in the 36 hours ahead of the team’s face-off against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The episode premieres Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

Last August, Major League Soccer (MLS) and the NBC Sports Group announced a three-year media rights agreement that calls for 46 MLS games and four U.S. National Team contests to be televised live across both NBC and NBC Sports Network each season. This agreement was the first rights deal for the new NBC Sports Network. All telecasts on NBC and NBC Sports Network will consist of pre-game and post-game coverage.
