Season Premiere to Feature: Peyton Manning Leading Broncos to Dramatic Win Against Steelers Robert Griffin III’s Stellar NFL Debut Against Saints Michael Vick Wired-for-Sound During Eagles vs. Browns NFL Turning Point Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick Hour-Long Program to air on Wednesday Nights at 10 p.m. ET Throughout NFL Season, Including Playoffs and Super Bowl

New York – September 10, 2012 – The second season of Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, NBC Sports Network’s weekly NFL show co-produced by NFL Films, premieres this Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET. Thursday’s episode features Peyton Manning’s dramatic performance in leading the Broncos to victory against the Steelers; Robert Griffin III’s stellar first-game exhibition in leading the Redskins to a win over the Saints; and compelling in-game audio from Michael Vick during the Eagles win against the Browns. Hosted by Football Night In America’s Dan Patrick, the hour-long program will air throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl.

This week’s episode features:

Peyton Manning’s return to the NFL, and the Bronco’s dramatic victory over Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers. After waiting on the sideline for nearly an hour (halftime and an 8:55 third-quarter drive by the Steelers), Manning took the field and quickly connected with Demaryius Thomas for a 71-yard touchdown play to give the Broncos a 14-13 lead, with 5:29 to go in the third quarter.

Robert Griffin III’s first regular-season NFL start for the Redskins, including his 320 yard passing performance against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Griffin went 19 for 26, including an 88-yard touchdown play to Pierre Garcon, and upset the Saints on their home field.

– Compelling in-game audio from Michael Vick, as he wore a wireless microphone during the Eagles win over the Browns.

Each week NFL Turning Point will be built around select NFL match-ups from the previous weekend, and will focus on the crucial “turning point” moments that ultimately defined the outcome of each game. The show will feature anatomy-of-a-play type segments and long form, Game-of-the-Week style narratives that include the pre-game and post-game access, sideline sounds, jaw-dropping cinematography and incredible storytelling that is synonymous with NFL Films.

Earlier this year NFL Films and NBC Sports Group agreed to renew the Emmy-nominated NFL Turning Point, for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 seasons. This year, NBC Sports Network will air a total of 22 episodes, running throughout the entire NFL season, including the playoffs and Super Bowl. The season finale, scheduled to air on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, will look back at the turning point of Super Bowl XLVII.
