MARY WHIPPLE

Rowing Analyst

Mary Whipple makes her Olympic debut with NBC Sports Group serving as a rowing analyst during the 2016 Olympic Games.

A former coxswain, Whipple competed in the 2012 Olympic Games and at the 2008 Olympic Games. She won a gold medal in women’s eight at both competitions in London and Beijing. Altogether, Whipple accumulated eight total medals in the course of her career, seven of which are gold. Whipple held the 9th seat in the United States Women’s eight for 12 years.  She coxed the 2004 Olympic eight to a Silver medal finish ending a 20-year Olympic drought.

Whipple currently resides in Leavenworth, Wash., with her husband Ryan.
