Jill Sorenson has established a reputation as one of the Washington/Baltimore area’s most respected media members as a longtime anchor and reporter for Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.
Sorenson serves as Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic’s reporter for the Washington Capitals, leading the network’s coverage of the team for SportsNet Central and contributing to Capitals Central and Capitals Postgame Live. She also regularly serves as an anchor for SportsNet Central and covers a variety of other stories and events for the daily news program.
Sorenson joined Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic in 2005 after serving as a news anchor and reporter for Washington’s WTTG-TV (FOX), where she won an Associated Press Award for her reporting. Prior to that, she was a sports anchor and reporter for WRC-TV (NBC) from 2000 to 2004, where she covered the Capitals and claimed an Emmy Award for best sports series in 2000.
Prior to arriving in Washington, D.C., Sorenson also served as a sports anchor and reporter at WDIO-TV (ABC) in Duluth, Minn. A graduate of BrownUniversity, she earned degrees in English and Hispanic Studies and was a member of the school’s soccer team.
