President, NBC Sports Regional Networks, and Executive Vice President, Content Strategy, NBC Sports Group

David Preschlack was named President, NBC Sports Regional Networks, and Executive Vice President, Content Strategy, NBC Sports Group, in February 2019. In addition to continuing to oversee the NBC Sports Regional Networks across the country, he contributes to the content strategy for NBC Sports Group’s national properties; serves as a principal in the division’s media rights negotiations; and helps lead strategy in the sports betting space.

Preschlack joined NBC Sports Group in January 2016 as President, NBC Sports Regional Networks, and NBC Sports Group Platform and Content Strategy.  He oversees nine NBC Sports Regional Networks in top markets across the country, and manages relationships with MLB, NBA and NHL team partners. He also led the entire NBC Sports platform strategy with existing and to-be-developed content.

Under his leadership, Preschlack led NBC Sports Regional Networks’ brand evolution, which united all of the previously CSN-branded networks, and two TCNs, under the NBC Sports umbrella. In addition, the RSNs launched two local direct-to-consumer streaming products, NBC Sports Gold’s “Blazers Pass” and “Philly Pass;” NBC Sports Chicago secured a landmark deal with the Chicago White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks starting with the 2020 season; and the RSNs hosted their first esports tournament, Universal Open: Rocket League.

Previously, Preschlack served as Executive Vice President, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, Disney and ESPN Networks Group, where he handled the oversight of content distributed on all digital platforms.  He also oversaw the distribution for The Walt Disney Company’s 16 linear networks (inclusive of all sports offerings), as well as their HDTV, video-on-demand, interactive television, pay-per-view products, and retransmission consent agreements for The Walt Disney Company’s eight ABC-owned stations.

Preschlack joined ESPN in 1995 as a videotape librarian. Prior roles include Senior Vice President, affiliate sales and marketing, Disney & ESPN Media Network Group, where he oversaw sales, business strategy, affiliate ad sales and affiliate marketing for all Disney and ESPN products and services in the U.S.; and Senior Vice President of national accounts, with responsibility for all domestic distribution and licensing efforts for The Walt Disney Company’s assets within the media networks group.

Preschlack was named three times to SportsBusiness Journal’s “Forty Under 40” list, earning him an induction into the award’s Hall of Fame, and received the 2013 NCTA Vanguard Award for Young Leadership, among other industry honors.

Preschlack is a graduate of Denison University with a bachelor’s degree in economics, and serves on the Worldwide Board of Trustees at United Way and the Board of Directors at Make a Wish Connecticut. He resides in Connecticut with his wife and their four children.
