Longtime TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie brings more than 35 years of reporting experience to NBC Sports Group’s NHL coverage.
McKenzie, generally regarded as the industry’s top Hockey Insider, joined NBC Sports Group during the 2014-15 season and appears regularly across NBC and NBCSN throughout the NHL regular-season and Stanley Cup Playoffs. He serves as an in-studio contributor to NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Hockey telecasts, and provides on-site commentary at NHL All-Star Weekend, the Stanley Cup Final, and NHL Draft. He continues in his respective role for TSN in Canada.
McKenzie came to NBC Sports Group as one of the most respected insiders in hockey, with extensive NHL reporting experience in television and print media. McKenzie has spent more than 25 years as the top hockey analyst for TSN in Canada, where he appears regularly on the network’s hockey studio coverage, and writes the Hockey Insider column on TSN.ca, Canada’s leading sports website.
McKenzie has been named to Sports Illustrated’s The Twitter 100, featuring the 100 most influential tweeters in the sports world, and has been named to The Hockey News’ 100 People of Power and Influence on an annual basis. His Twitter following of 1.62 million is unrivaled in hockey media and makes him the most-followed media personality in Canada. McKenzie joined TSN in 1987 and has been a fixture on the network ever since, covering the NHL, IIHF World Junior Championship, NHL Draft, NHL Trade Deadline and six Olympic Winter Games.
Prior to joining TSN, McKenzie served as the editor-in-chief of The Hockey News for nine years, and was a columnist for The Toronto Star for six years.
McKenzie has also authored two books: Hockey Confidential, which was just released this past September, and Hockey Dad: True Confessions of a (Crazy?) Hockey Parent.
