WORLD PARA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS CONTINUE ACROSS NBC SPORTS, HIGHLIGHTING THIS WEEK’S OLYMPIC PROGRAMMING

NBC Sports Continues Most Comprehensive Coverage of World Para Track & Field Championships this Week; Presenting 50 Hours of Live Coverage

Additional Olympic Sports Programming this Week Includes Grand Prix of Figure Skating, Women’s Wrestling World Cup, World Cup Speed Skating, Cyclo-Cross World Cup, and European Curling Championships

STAMFORD, Conn. – Nov. 13, 2019 – The 2019 World Para Track & Field Championships, the final major competition heading into next year’s Paralympic Games in Tokyo, continue from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, headlining NBC Sports’ Olympic programming this week.

From the start of the event last week through the final day this Friday, Nov. 15, NBC Sports will provide its most comprehensive coverage of the event ever, with approximately 50 total hours of live coverage across NBC Sports platforms.

Two-time Paralympic gold medalist Deja Young headlines the American team as she attempts to defend her 200m T47 world titles. In total, 14 Americans are in Dubai for their world title defense. Of the 63 members on Team U.S.A., 43 have Paralympic experience and 14 are Paralympic champions, including David Brown (with guide Jerome Avery) and Roderick Townsend.

Live coverage begins at 9 a.m. ET every morning this week on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, concluding Friday, Nov. 15.

NBC PRESENTS COVERAGE OF GRAND PRIX RUSSIA ON SUNDAY

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents encore coverage of Grand Prix China this week featuring every skater in every discipline. Encore coverage continues tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 13, and tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. ET. 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist Tanith White called the action, joined by her former partner Ben Agosto.

NBC Sports also presents coverage of Grand Prix Russia on Sunday at Noon ET on NBC, while NBC Sports Gold presents live coverage of the event this Friday and Saturday. Friday’s coverage on NBC Sports Gold begins at 6 a.m. ET with the men’s short program and at 5:30 a.m. ET on Saturday with the men’s free skate.

The American contingent at Grand Prix Russia is highlighted by two-time U.S. bronze medalist Mariah Bell, who will attempt to make the podium for her second straight Grand Prix event after placing third at Grand Prix France.

WOMEN’S WRESTLING WORLD CUP – NARITA, JAPAN

TV COVERAGE BEGINS SATURDAY, NOV. 16 AT 5:30 P.M. ET ON OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA

The 18th annual Women’s Wrestling World Cup begins this weekend in Narita, Japan. Teams from six different nations will compete, including the United States, which has not won the annual tournament since 2003 and hasn’t placed on the podium since finishing second to China in 2011. Host nation Japan has won each of the last four World Cups. Five-time world champion Adeline Gray (76kg) and 2019 world champion Tamyra Mensah-Stock (68kg) are expected to headline the U.S. team.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents coverage on Saturday, Nov. 16, with the United States taking on Russia at 5:30 p.m. ET. On Sunday, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will show the Bronze Medal Match at 5 p.m. ET and the Gold Medal Match at 6:30 p.m. ET.

WORLD CUP SPEED SKATING – MINSK, BELARUS

OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA PRESENTS TV COVERAGE AT 10 P.M. ET THIS FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

The World Cup speed skating season kicks off this week in Minsk, Belarus, as two-time Olympian and 2018 Olympic team pursuit bronze medalist Brittany Bowe and two-time Olympian and 2017 mass start world champion Joey Mantia are expected to headline the American contingent. Bowe is the current world champion and world record holder in the 1000m.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA presents television coverage of the three-day event at 10 p.m. ET this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. NBC Sports Gold additionally presents live coverage on all three days.

CYCLO-CROSS WORLD CUP – TABOR, CZECH REPUBLIC

LIVE COVERAGE ON OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA AND NBC SPORTS GOLD THIS SATURDAY BEGINS AT 7 A.M. ET

The Cyclo-Cross World Cup season continues with the fourth stop of the series in Tabor, Czech Republic. Cyclo-cross, a non-Olympic discipline, combines cycling, steeplechase and NASCAR all into one, with athletes racing around a circuit course with steep hills, difficult descents, mud, grass, sand and dirt. American Kaitie Keough is the top-ranked American in the individual standings this season, currently sitting in third place following a season-best finish at the series’ most recent stop in Bern, Switzerland.

Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, OlympicChannel.com and NBC Sports Gold present live coverage this Saturday, Nov. 16, with the Women’s Elite at 8 a.m. ET and the Men’s Elite at 8:30 a.m. ET.

EUROPEAN CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS – HELSINGBORG, SWEDEN

LIVE COVERAGE ON OLYMPIC CHANNEL: HOME OF TEAM USA BEGINS SATURDAY AT 2 P.M. ET

The 2019 European Curling Championships, which will be used as a qualification event for the 2020 World Championships, begin this weekend in Helsingborg, Sweden. Seven men’s teams (excluding Worlds host Scotland) and six women’s teams will earn berths to next year’s World Championships. Led by 2018 Olympic gold medalist Anna Hasselborg, Sweden’s women’s team won the European title last season, while Scotland won the men’s tournament.

Live coverage begins this Saturday with Sweden vs. Switzerland at 2 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. Coverage of the event continues over the next week and concludes next Saturday, Nov. 23, with the men’s and women’s gold medal games on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.
