Mike Tirico, Doug Flutie, Chris Simms, Kathryn Tappen and Terry McAulay to Call Matchup

Liam McHugh to Host Halftime Coverage with Simms On-Site at Notre Dame Stadium

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 30, 2019 – NBC Sports continues its coverage of the 2019 Notre Dame football season this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, when QB Ian Book and the No. 16 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-2) host Virginia Tech (5-2) from Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind.

NBC Sports’ Notre Dame Football commentary team of Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Doug Flutie (analyst), Kathryn Tappen (sideline reporter), and Terry McAulay (rules analyst) will call the game. NBC Sports’ Liam McHugh will host studio coverage alongside Chris Simms, who will also serve as an in-game sideline analyst.

The Fighting Irish look to get back in the win column against Virginia Tech, who have won three consecutive games. The Hokies, coming off a bye last weekend, defeated North Carolina, 43-41, in a six-overtime thriller two weeks ago in the longest game in ACC history. Notre Dame lost to longtime rival Michigan 45-14 on Saturday.

Saturday’s matchup will be the third all-time game between Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, with the series split 1-1. Notre Dame won the most recent meeting, 45-23, on Oct. 6, 2018 in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Fighting Irish offensive lineman Aaron Banks will be featured during this week’s halftime, providing behind-the-scenes access into his life as a student athlete preparing for the weekend’s game.
