STAMFORD, Conn. – October 7, 2019 – Reigning Olympic gymnastics all-around champion Simone Biles blazes her path towards becoming the most-dominant gymnast in the history of the sport this week, as she headlines NBC Sports’ coverage of the World Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany.

In the opening weekend of qualifying, Biles had the highest all-around score (59.432 points) and led the U.S. women’s gymnastics team to the top spot in qualification. Biles is already the first woman to win four world-all around titles and aims for an unprecedented fifth world all-around title this week. At 22 years old, Biles has 20 world medals, just three behind the record held by Belarusian Vitaly Scherbo. She will compete in four of the next six days.

The American men are expected to be led by two-time Olympian and six-time U.S. all-around champion Sam Mikulak and 2017 world bronze medalist Yul Moldauer. Mikulak – who won his first individual world medal by finishing third on high bar at the 2018 World Championships – and the U.S. men’s team have earned a team quota spot for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by finishing seventh in qualifications. Moldauer was the top U.S. qualifier in the all-around, while Mikulak qualified second on high bar.
