On Europe winning the Solheim Cup
Kay Cockerill – “In a sea of change with so many young players, it is the stalwart Suzann Pettersen that brings home the Cup for Europe.”
Terry Gannon – “To win on the final putt on the final green. I am not sure that I have seen anything like it.”

Suzann Pettersen speaking with GOLF Channel’s Kay Cockerill after winning the Solheim Cup for Europe
Suzann Pettersen – “I was just trying to get the ball on the green and near that pin and I just hit a great wedge shot and put it into a fantastic spot. It was a left-center putt. I didn’t know that was to win it. I really didn’t know. I knew it was very close. I think this is it. This is me and the Solheim Cup forever. This is a chapter close to the end.”
Pettersen – “Can you ask for anything more. Last putt to win the Cup. That close. History was just made. To win here at Gleneagles in front of the Scottish crowd. I could never believe in a million years this was going to happen, but this is it.”
Pettersen – “I’ve been practicing a lot. You just have to trust yourself coming down the stretch. I played really good golf the last few days. I have an amazing team. I just tried to get out there today, not to look at too many boards and really try to get my point. This is just crazy.”

Pettersen speaking with GOLF Channel’s Lisa Cornwell on securing the winning point for Europe and announces retirement from competitive golf
Suzann Pettersen – “This is it. This is the ultimate. I’m so glad that I didn’t know it was going to be the winning putt. I knew it was close but that that it was actually the counting half point. I mean it is a dream case scenario to stand there but to pull it off is just a big blur. I have the absolute best team behind me. It was a team effort today. We knew it was going to come down to one of the last couple of matches. Bronte and I were on the putting green before we took off and we said we are going to get our points. I knew she was close. This is a good end to a great career.”
Pettersen – “I think this is a fantastic closure to my career. I can’t ask for anything more. Four months ago I never thought I was going to be here. I have worked hard. All of the girls had the belief that I could come back and had the confidence in me and to be a part of such and amazing team. To win here for Beanie, this is it.”
Pettersen – “We knew we had to go out there today and prove to ourselves that we can win the singles. It is possible. Like I said all week, we had the best team we’ve ever had and we all proved it today. I’m just excited to be such a part of an amazing team.”

European captain Catriona Matthew speaking with GOLF Channel’s Karen Stupples
Catriona Matthew – The emotions just go up and down. I have sympathy for my parents who have watched me for all of these years because one moment you think great and the next moment you think oh no. To come down to the last match is quite the spectacle for women’s golf. Obviously the Americans played great and we just edged them out this time. I am so happy for Suzann. She got a bit of flack for me picking her so just delighted that she got the winning putt.
Catriona – “Obviously I had faith in all of them but it is just great for Suzann. The whole team played well though, you are not going to win it with one person so this is a fantastic team performance.”
Matthew – “This is without a doubt the highlight of my career. To win it in Scotland and in the fashion we did with the last putt in the last game, you couldn’t have scripted it any better.”

U.S. Captain Juli Inkster speaking with Grant Boone following the Solheim Cup
Juli Inkster – “Amazing finish. Suzann played great. Marina played great. it was just a great match. It came down to have a point. Good on them.”
Inkster – “They all played great golf, Europe just played ½ a point better. You know what, it was great for women’s golf and I’m really proud of my team and I’m really proud to represent the U.S.A.”

Bronte Law speaking with GOLF Channel’s Jerry Foltz following Europe’s victory
Bronte Law – “I just don’t know how to put it into words. It is something I have never experienced on this level. Obviously I have won Curtis Cups before and just love being a part of that but this is something I am going to remember for the rest of my life and this team is special. Law – “We proved that and we have so much love for each other and we support each other so much. Ultimately that is what it came down to. We played for each other and that is something that is really special.”

On Sunday singles matches
Terry Gannon – “This atmosphere is why players spend so much time trying to make it to the Solheim Cup.”
Judy Rankin – “Absolutely. You want to play for your country and you want to play for your captain. But you want to experience this that you have seen from afar.”
Rankin – “We have seen only little glimpses of weakness. Everybody has risen to the occasion.”

On Suzann Pettersen defeating Marina Alex 1 Up to clinch the Solheim Cup
Judy Rankin – “Whatever you thought about Suzann Pettersen as a competitor – and most of us think pretty highly of her as a competitor – has exploded today.”
Judy Rankin – “How good does Suzann look as a captain’s pick right now.”
Terry Gannon – “Sensational player. An even better competitor.”
Jerry Foltz – “The play has been outstanding in this match today.”
Kay Cockerill – “Marina has fought hard all day in this match.”
Kay Cockerill – That putt fooled me and fooled Marina. She thought it would move down to the left, instead it peeled right.”
Rankin – “Marina Alex has nothing personally to shed a tear about. What a great match.

On Carlota Ciganda defeating Danielle Kang 1 Up
Judy Rankin – “Carlota is a player when trying to close out a golf tournament, she tends to show signs of nerves. But in the Solheim Cup and in match play, she is a completely different person.”
Rankin – “She has played every match. No one has spent more energy that Carlota this week.”
Terry Gannon – “With a shot at 18 that Seve would have been proud of”
Rankin – “Absolutely. There is something in the water in Spain. We have never seen a player from Spain that doesn’t have great skill around the greens.”
Rankin – “These two are a reality show. Danielle and her caddie Oli have such great conversations.”
Tom Abbott – “Danielle always wears her heart on her sleeve. The passion and pride of the Solheim Cup is etched in her face.”

Carlota Ciganda speaking with GOLF Channel’s Jim Gallagher Jr
Carlota Ciganda – “18th hole has such a tough green. Anything can happen. I hit a really good shot up on the green and I’m really happy to win a point for Europe.
Ciganda – “I just love playing for Europe and playing for my teammates and playing for the Solheim Cup. It has been a great week. Lots of great golf. If I have to play 2, 3 4 rounds in a row for Europe I will do it.”

On Nelly Korda defeating Caroline Hedwall 2 Up
Judy Rankin – “Nelly started a little shaky today but really what made her shaky was that Caroline Hedwall started out so well.”

Nelly Korda speaking with GOLF Channel’s Karen Stupples following her victory
Nelly Korda – “That birdie on 10 really helped. It got me going a bit on the back nine. I just told myself not to quit. There are a lot of holes out there and a lot of golf and we’re both going to make mistakes. I just kept my head down and kept trotting along.”
Korda – “Yeah and more. I had so much fun this week along my sister and my teammates. I don’t think I could have dreamt anything better.”

On Georgia Hall defeating Lexi Thompson 2&1
Jerry Foltz – “Lexi is playing virtually flawless tee to green golf. Beware the injured golfer.”
Judy Rankin – “You can be sure that Lexi Thompson periodically will come up with a heck of a shot from somewhere.”
Tom Abbott – “A perfect Solheim Cup for Georgia Hall.”

Georgia Hall speaking with GOLF Channel’s Jerry Foltz following her victory
Georgia Hall – “I hit some really good 8-10 footers for halves which kept the momentum going and managed to hit some great shots on the back nine to get it to all square and then finally win.

On Celine Boutier defeating Annie Park 2&1
Terry Gannon – “How good has Celine been this week.”
Kay Cockerill – “She has been amazing. Undefeated good this week”
Judy Rankin – She is having the best professional week of her life.
Tom Abbott – “The first rookie to win 4 matches in her Solheim Cup debut. It has certainly been a week to remember for Boutier.”

Celine Boutier speaking with GOLF Channel’s Kay Cockerill following her victory
Celine Boutier – “It is unreal. I never would have expected to do so well. But I had a great partner in doubles with Georgia and today I tried to focus on my own game. I feel like me and Annie played really well and steady all day. We just had to make birdies to win holes and that is the type of golf we like to play. It was a very good round. This is an indescribable feeling to bring four points to Europe.”
Boutier – “It is definitely a strange feeling when you are by yourself but you also have to rely on your caddie because you are a team with him, and manage to hit fairways and greens with good shots.

On Angel Yin defeating Azahara Munoz 2&1
Tom Abbott – “Angel Yin has so much potential, you are just waiting for her to break through on the LPGA Tour. She has played well this week and she is so fun to watch.”
Judy Rankin – A couple of people on the LPGA Tour has taken Angel under their wing, no one more than Juli Inkster.

Angel Yin speaking with GOLF Channel’s Jim Gallagher Jr. following her victory
Angel Yin – “I just got to take advantage of the weather. I’m not the greatest in the wind and I was a little rattled by that yesterday. Today I was ready to go and I know that every point counts.”
Angel – There was so much adrenaline running through me. After I made that putt on 16 my legs were shaking and I had to pace it off. The nerves are always there, it is just how well you can manage it.”

On Megan Khang halving her match against Charley Hull
Judy Rankin – “Juli Inkster put Megan Khang in a very pivotal spot in the sixth match out. Megan Khang played really hard today and delivered.”
Rankin – “When you come to 18 one down and you get half a point, that is a win.”

Megan Khang speaking with GOLF Channel’s Karen Stupples following her match
Megan Khang – “It has been so much fun. You learn a lot about yourself and about how to play in the wind here. Overall, the crowds and the atmosphere was great. It is so fun and so different from the every day rounds of golf that we play on Tour.”

On Lizette Salas defeating Anne van Dam 1 Up
Judy Rankin – “She is one of the large handful of players in the women’s game that has unbelievable potential. If it should all be realized, what we are going to see in the level of golf in the next three, four or five years is going to be an amazing thing in women’s sports.

On Brittany Altomare defeating Jodi Ewart Shadoff 5&4
Terry Gannon – “Just go ahead and make putts all day long and make a short day of it Brittany Altomare. It is what she does but I’m not sure anybody expected this.

On Bronte Law defeating Ally McDonald 2&1
Judy Rankin – “She is a bulldog. She is a fighter. She is fun to watch.”
Jerry Foltz – “You know she has thought of this moment, you know she has dreamt of this moment and you get the impression she was made for this moment.”
