STAMFORD, Conn. – June 25, 2019 – NBC Sports launches its 2019 NASCAR season this weekend with nearly 20 hours of trackside coverage from Chicagoland Speedway, culminating with Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN. Pre-race coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with Countdown to Green.

NBC Sports will super-serve fans with 18 total hours of NASCAR programming on NBCSN this weekend from Friday to Sunday, including Xfinity Series racing on Saturday, June 30, at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN. All 2019 NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series coverage that airs on NBC and NBCSN will stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

Entering NBC Sports’ portion of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Team Penske Ford, leads the regular season standings with 643 points and 2 wins, followed by Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch (642 points, 4 wins), Kevin Harvick (573, 0 wins), Brad Keselowski (569, 3 wins), and Martin Truex, Jr. (543, 4 wins).

Seven-time Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson enters this weekend 17th in the standings, one point below the Playoff cut line. Truex Jr. took the checkered flag this past weekend at Sonoma Raceway, securing his fourth win of the season and placing him in the top five ahead of this weekend’s action at Chicagoland Speedway. Last season’s race at Chicagoland on NBCSN featured one of the most exciting finishes of the 2018 Cup Series season, as Kyle Busch held off Kyle Larson on the final lap to take the checkered flag.

MONSTER ENERGY NASCAR CUP SERIES RACING FROM CHICAGOLAND – SUNDAY AT 3 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBC Sports’ lead NASCAR race announcer Rick Allen, Daytona 500-winning crew chief Steve Letarte, and 21-time Cup Series race winner and “The Mayor” of NASCAR Jeff Burton begin their fifth season in the booth, alongside NASCAR racing legend and two-time Daytona 500 Champion Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Host Krista Voda, auto racing icon Kyle Petty, and Hall of Fame driver Dale Jarrett will again serve as the primary on-site pre- and post-race team. Marty SniderKelli StavastDave Burns, and Parker Kligerman will report from pit road and the garages.

NBCSports.com lead motorsports writer Nate Ryan will contribute news reports throughout race weekend, and features reporter Rutledge Wood will bring viewers a collection of off-track stories during race coverage throughout the season.

NBCSN’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series coverage from Joliet, Ill., kicks off Saturday, June 30, at 11 a.m. ET with the first practice. NASCAR America, hosted live from NBC Sports’ “Peacock Pit Box,” airs at 1 p.m. ET, followed by final practice at 2 p.m. ET. NASCAR Cup Series qualifying wraps up the day at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NBC Sports Group’s race day coverage begins Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NASCAR America, followed by Countdown to Green at 2:30 p.m. ET. Live coverage of NBCSN’s first NASCAR Cup Series race of the 2019 season begins at 3 p.m. ET. After the checkered flag falls, post-race coverage continues on NBCSN at 6 p.m. ET.

NBCSN PRESENTS XFINITY SERIES RACING – SATURDAY AT 3:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBCSN’s Xfinity Series race day coverage kicks off Saturday at 12 p.m. ET with qualifying, followed by Countdown to Green at 3 p.m. ET. NBCSN’s first Xfinity Series race of 2019 begins at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by the post-race show at 6 p.m. ET.

Entering this weekend, Tyler Reddick is atop the regular season standings with 649 points (3 wins), followed by Christopher Bell (598 points, 4 wins) and Cole Custer (563 points, 3 wins).  Michael Annett (1 win) is the only other Playoff-eligible driver with a win in the 2019 Xfinity season.

TOMORROW’S EPISODE OF NASCAR AMERICA MOTORMOUTHS TO FEATURE GUEST TY DILLON

Tomorrow’s episode of NASCAR America Motormouths at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN will feature special guest Ty Dillon. Dillon, who registered a career-best sixth place finish in the Daytona 500 earlier this year, will join Marty Snider and Dale Jarrett on the NASCAR America set as fans call in to ask their pressing questions ahead of this weekend’s race at Chicagoland. Motormouths Wednesdays are all about the viewers, providing regular opportunities for fans to call in to NASCAR America and speak with hosts, analysts, and a rotation of current drivers live on NBCSN.

NBC SPORTS’ “ON HER TURF” PODCAST TO FEATURE NASCAR DRIVER HAILIE DEEGAN ON TOMORROW’S EPISODE

Tomorrow’s episode of the “On Her Turf” podcast will feature 17-year-old stockcar driver Hailie Deegan. Deegan grew up racing off-road and on dirt but transitioned to competing on asphalt in 2016 to pursue a career in stock car racing. She began her career in NASCAR in 2018 at the K&N Pro Series level and is the only female to have won races in the series, doing so in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Deegan will join host Kathryn Tappen to discuss where she draws her confidence from, growing up in a racing household, her goals moving forward, Kevin Harvick’s importance in her career, how she sees “frenemies” every day and keeps her priorities straight, and the one thing that scares her in a race car.
