STAMFORD, Conn. – May 30, 2019 – Coming off its inaugural Indianapolis 500 broadcast on NBC that delivered an 11% viewership increase and the race’s best household rating in three years, NBC Sports continues its exclusive coverage of the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series this weekend with the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix doubleheader on NBC. Coverage of Saturday and Sunday’s races on NBC from Detroit’s Belle Isle Park in Detroit will begin at 3 p.m. ET.

Simon Pagenaud (250 points) now holds the series championship lead following his first career Indianapolis 500 victory, one point ahead of Team Penske teammate Josef Newgarden (249 points). Alexander Rossi (Andretti Autosport), who finished second in the Indy 500 after trading the lead with Pagenaud in the final laps, currently sits third in the championship standings (228 points). Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) took the checkered flag in the first and second races, respectively, last year in Detroit.

Live INDYCAR coverage from Detroit begins tomorrow at 10:55 a.m. ET with Practice 1 exclusively on NBC Sports Gold’s INDYCAR Pass, which will provide live streaming coverage of all practices, qualifying, Indy Lights races and on-demand replays for the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season. This marks the first time that all NTT IndyCar Series qualifying and practice sessions will receive television-quality production, including timing and scoring. Live streaming coverage from Detroit continues tomorrow at 2:50 p.m. ET on INDYCAR Pass with Practice 2, followed by exclusive live streaming of Race #1 qualifying on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. ET. INDYCAR Pass and NBCSN will have live coverage of Sunday’s Race #2qualifying at 10:30 a.m. ET.

NBC Sports’ lead INDYCAR broadcast team of Leigh Diffey (play-by-play), Townsend Bell (analyst), and 1994 Detroit Grand Prix winner Paul Tracy (analyst) will call both races on NBC. Marty Snider, Kevin Lee, Jon Beekhuis and Robin Miller will provide reports from the pits.

IMSA WEATHERTECH CHAMPIONSHIP DETROIT GRAND PRIX – SATURDAY AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN FOLLOWING INDYCAR QUALIFYING

NBC Sports presents live coverage of the IMSA WeatherTech Championship’s Detroit Grand Prix this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, featuring the purpose-built Daytona Prototype International (DPi) machines and the production-based GT Daytona (GTD) class as they continue their battle for the WeatherTech Sprint Cup title. The No. 31 Whelen Engineering team of Felipe Nasr and Pipo Derani currently lead the DPi standings, while the No. 86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura team of Mario Farnbacher and Trent Hindman lead the GTD standings. Only eight points separate the top five teams in the DPi standings.

NBC Sports’ lead IMSA commentary team of Leigh Diffey, motorsports veteran A.J. Allmendinger (analyst) and former IMSA GT driver Calvin Fish (analyst) will call the action, along with pit reporters Dave Burns and Jon Beekhuis.

LUCAS OIL PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP – THUNDER VALLEY NATIONAL –  SATURDAY ON NBC SPORTS GOLD – SUNDAY AT 4 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

NBC Sports continues its coverage of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship season this weekend from Thunder Valley National in Lakewood, Colo. Eli Tomac came from behind to win both Motos and earn the overall 450MX win at Fox Raceway in Pala, Calif., last weekend. Adam Cianciarulo won the second Moto in the 250MX Class last weekend and took the overall win with a 3-1 to add to his early 250MX championship lead after two races. 2nd Motos will air on Sunday on NBCSN at 4 p.m. ET.

NBC Sports continues its coverage of the 2019 American Flat Track, the most historic form of American motorcycle racing, this weekend at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with the Springfield Mile in Illinois.

Featuring the world’s fastest motorcycle racers on dirt battling it out at speeds approaching 140 mph, American Flat Track is the most prestigious and most competitive form of dirt track motorcycle racing in the world. Jason Weigandt (play-by-play) and A.J. Allmendinger (analyst) will call the action.

2019 INDYCAR SEASON ON NBC AND NBCSN

NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series began earlier this year with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the first of 17 races to air on NBC and NBCSN during the season.

Following the Indy 500, NBC will present the Detroit Grand Prix doubleheader on the weekend of June 1-2, followed by races at Road America on Sunday, June 23 and Mid-Ohio on Sunday, July 28. The 2019 NTT IndyCar Series championship will be decided on NBC, with the season’s penultimate race in Portland on Sunday, Sept. 1, and the season finale at Laguna Seca on Sunday, Sept. 22.
