NBC Sports Radio to Present All Remaining Stanley Cup Playoff Games

STAMFORD, Conn. – May 9, 2019 – NBC Sports presents exclusive coverage of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs Conference Finals, beginning tonight at 8 p.m. on NBCSN, as Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins host Justin Williams and the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final. Pre-game coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NHL Live.

Six-time Emmy award winner Mike “Doc” Emrick (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from TD Garden in Boston.

Conference Final coverage shifts west on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, as Vladimir Tarasenko and the St. Louis Blues travel to face Erik Karlsson and the San Jose Sharks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final. Kenny Albert (play-by-play), Mike Milbury (analyst), and Emmy-award winner Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from SAP Center in San Jose.

GAME 1 – CAROLINA HURRICANES AT BOSTON BRUINS TONIGHT AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Carolina advanced to the Eastern Conference Final for the first time since 2009 after sweeping the N.Y. Islanders in the Second Round of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Boston – the highest remaining seed in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs – advanced to their first Conference Final since 2013 with a 3-0 Game 6 shutout on Tuesday night, and will host the Hurricanes tonight in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final. The Bruins have won three straight games since trailing Columbus, 2-1, in the Second Round.

The last time these two teams met in the playoffs was in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2009, where Carolina won the series, 4-3. The Bruins played the Hurricanes three times during the regular season, and won two of the matchups.


GAME 1 – ST. LOUIS BLUES AT SAN JOSE SHARKS SATURDAY NIGHT AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBC

The Sharks advanced to their second Western Conference Final in two seasons with a 3-2 Game 7 victory over the Avalanche last night, and will host St. Louis in Game 1 on Saturday night on primetime NBC. St. Louis advanced to the Western Conference Final with a 2-1 double-overtime win against the Stars in Game 7 on Tuesday night.

Both teams make their first trip to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2016, when San Jose defeated St. Louis in six games to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. The Sharks and the Blues competed three times against each other during the regular season, and the Sharks won two of the three matchups.
