STAMFORD, Conn. – April 24, 2019 – Coming off last night’s thrilling Game 7 doubleheader, NBC Sports presents another Game 7 tonight on NBCSN at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Alex Ovechkin and the (1) Washington Capitals host Justin Williams and the (WC1) Carolina Hurricanes in the conclusion of the First Round of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call of tonight’s Game 7 from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Tonight’s pre-game coverage on NBCSN begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with NHL Live, hosted by Kathryn Tappen alongside analysts Jeremy Roenick and Keith Jones.

GAME 7 – (WC1) CAROLINA HURRICANES AT (1) WASHINGTON CAPITALS TONIGHT AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Hurricanes forced tonight’s decisive Game 7 with a 5-2 victory against the Capitals in Game 6 on Monday night in Raleigh. Hurricanes veterans Jordan Staal and Dougie Hamilton each had a goal and an assist in the effort, while goalie Petr Mrazek made 23 saves in the Game 6 victory.

Hurricanes captain Justin Williams is known as “Mr. Game 7,” boasting a 7-1 record in Game 7s with an NHL record 14 points in those eight games, including a record-tying seven goals. The home team has won each of the first six games in the series, which shifts to Washington tonight, where the Caps have won six straight home playoff games dating back to last year.


SECOND ROUND STARTS TOMORROW WITH DOUBLEHEADER ON NBCSN – BLUE JACKETS VS. BRUINS AT 7 P.M. ET, FOLLOWED BY STARS AT BLUES AT 9:30 P.M. ET

NBC Sports begins its exclusive coverage of the Second Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs tomorrow with a Game 1 doubleheader on NBCSN. Coverage starts at 7 p.m. ET between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Boston Bruins, followed by the Dallas Stars vs. St. Louis Blues at 9:30 p.m. ET. Thursday’s doubleheader pre-game coverage begins on NBCSN at 6 p.m. ET with NHL Live.
