Live Coverage of World Alpine Skiing Championships Continues Tomorrow, Feb. 14, with Run 1 of Women’s Giant Slalom at 8 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA & NBC Sports Gold’s “Snow Pass”

STAMFORD, Conn. – February 13, 2019 –Three-time Olympic medalist Mikaela Shiffrin continues her record-setting year at the World Alpine Skiing Championships this week in Are, Sweden, highlighting Olympic sports coverage this week across NBC Sports. Live TV coverage continues with the women’s giant slalom tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 14, starting with Run 1 at 8 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and Run 2 at 11:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

Shiffrin won the super-G in the first race of the World Championships last week and is expected to compete in the giant slalom tomorrow, where she will aim for her first world title in the discipline after winning Olympic gold in the event in PyeongChang.  This weekend, Shiffrin will seek to become the first skier to win four consecutive world championship titles in the same event when she competes in the slalom.

Shiffrin is in the midst of a historic season. She entered the World Championships with 13 World Cup wins this season and currently leads the season-long overall World Cup point standings, in addition to the giant slalom, slalom and super-G. Amongst her accolades this year, she became the all-time leader in women’s World Cup slalom victories (38) and the youngest skier to reach 50 career World Cup wins.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, live TV coverage of the women’s slalom begins with Run 1 at 4:55 a.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and Run 2 at 8 a.m. ET on NBCSN.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety and two-time Olympian Tommy Ford will likely lead the American men in giant slalom. With five world titles, Ligety is the only American with more world titles than Shiffrin (4).

The next stop of the freestyle skiing and snowboarding World Cup consists of men’s and women’s halfpipe competitions in Calgary, Alberta. Two-time Olympic gold medalist David Wise, 2014 Olympic gold medalist Maddie Bowman and 2014 Olympic slopestyle silver medalist Gus Kenworthy will headline the American freestyle skiing team.

FREESTYLE SKIING WORLD CUP – MOSCOW, RUSSIA

The freestyle skiing World Cup continues with men’s and women’s aerials competitions in Moscow, Russia this weekend. Three-time Olympian Ashley Caldwell, who finished fifth at last week’s World Championships, is likely to lead the U.S. women. Brothers Chris Lillis and Jon Lillis are currently the top Americans in the World Cup standings and are expected to compete on the men’s side in Moscow.

IAAF WORLD INDOOR TOUR – BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND

LIVE COVERAGE BEGINS SATURDAY, FEB. 16 AT 8:30 A.M. ET ON NBC SPORTS GOLD

The IAAF World Indoor Tour, a series of six international events with stops in the U.S., Germany (2x), Poland, Spain and Great Britain, continues in Birmingham. Overall tour winners in each discipline earn $20,000 and a guaranteed spot at the 2020 World Indoor Championships. Several international stars are set to compete, including Rio Olympic pole vault gold medalist Katerina Stefanidi of Greece, 2018 world indoor long jump champion Juan Miguel Echevarria of Cuba and two-time 2018 world indoor medalist Laura Muir of Great Britain.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING WORLD CUP – COGNE, ITALY

The cross-country skiing World Cup circuit continues in Cogne, Italy, where 2018 Olympic gold medalist Jessie Diggins is expected to headline the American women. Two-time Olympians Sophie Caldwell and Sadie Bjornsen, both of whom have made World Cup sprint podiums this season, are also expected to compete.

TV coverage starts Saturday, February 16 at 6:30 a.m. ET and continues Sunday, February 17 at 2 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

BIATHLON WORLD CUP – SOLDIER HOLLOW, UTAH

LIVE COVERAGE BEGINS TOMORROW AT 1 P.M. ET ON NBCSN & NBC SPORTS GOLD’S SNOW PASS

The eighth competition of the 2018-19 biathlon World Cup season will be in Soldier Hollow, Utah, the site of the biathlon events at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. 2018 Olympian Clare Egan is currently the top U.S. woman in the overall standings and earned a career-best sixth-place finish in pursuit at the first World Cup stop of the season in Slovenia. Egan and two-time Olympian Susan Dunklee, who had a season-best 7th-place finish in the pursuit in January, are expected to lead the American women this week. Two-time Olympians Leif Nordgren and Sean Doherty are the top American men.

Live coverage begins tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 14 with the women’s 7.5km sprint at 1 p.m. ET on NBCSN, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, and NBC Sports Gold’s “Snow Pass.”

BOBSLED & SKELETON WORLD CUP – LAKE PLACID, NEW YORK

The bobsled and skeleton World Cup circuit comes to Lake Placid, New York, for the penultimate stop of the season. Three-time Olympic bobsled medalist Elana Meyers Taylor, who has five podium finishes this season, is coming off a win in St. Moritz, while 2018 Olympian Kendall Wesenberg is 9th in the women’s skeleton rankings following her 7th-place finish in St. Moritz. 2010 Olympic gold medalist Justin Olsen and PyeongChang Olympian Codie Bascue are the top U.S. men so far this season in bobsled.

SKI JUMPING WORLD CUP – GERMANY

The ski jumping season continues with competitions in Germany. The men will compete in Willingen and the women will compete in Oberstdorf. 2018 Olympian Nita Englund is expected to lead the American women, while Olympian Kevin Bickner should lead the American men.

Coverage of the trampoline gymnastics World Cup kicks off this weekend in Baku, Azerbaijan, where the United States will be represented by a deep team with World Championship experience. 2017 U.S. synchronized bronze medalist Jessica Stevens will compete in both the individual and synchronized events, as will 2017 U.S. synchronized champion Aliaksei Shostak.
