New Episode of “The P.K. Project” with Musician Lee Brice Debuts Wednesday Across NBC Sports Digital Platforms

STAMFORD, Conn. – February 5, 2019 – This week’s NHL coverage is highlighted by an Original Six clash on Wednesday Night Hockey and a “Star Sunday” doubleheader across NBC and NBCSN, beginning Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when Patrice Bergeron and the Boston Bruins visit Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers.

NBC Sports’ Star Sunday Presented by AT&T features a doubleheader beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, when P.K. Subban and the Nashville Predators host Vladimir Tarasenko and the St. Louis Blues. Coverage shifts to NBCSN at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday night, when Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs visit Lundqvist and the Rangers.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – BRUINS-RANGERS – 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Bruins (28-17-7, 63 pts) enter the week in the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, following a 1-0 victory over the Washington Capitals on Star Sunday Presented by AT&T on NBC this past weekend. Tuukka Rask made 24 saves to earn the shutout for Boston while David Krejci netted the game’s lone goal. The Bruins host the New York Islanders tonight.

The Rangers (22-22-8, 52 pts) are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss at home to the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night. Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad both scored for New York in the loss. The Rangers beat the Bruins, 3-2, in their most recent meeting on January 19, as Zibanejad scored twice for New York in the victory.

Pre-game coverage starts at 7 p.m. ET on NHL Live, hosted by Liam McHugh alongside analysts Mike Milbury, Keith Jones and NHL insider Bob McKenzie. Six-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Madison Square Garden in New York.

STAR SUNDAY PRESENTED BY AT&T – BLUES-PREDATORS AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBC

Airing most Sundays through the end of the regular season in April, NBC Sports’ “Star Sunday” games will shine a spotlight on a star from each team. The stars selected for each “Star Sunday” will be the focus of pre-game player arrivals and interviews, and will be highlighted in pre-game features and “get-to-know” segments. NBC Sports’ “Star Sunday” game telecasts will include an iso cam on the stars to be utilized for game analysis during intermissions, and scoreboard graphics will let viewers know when these stars are on the ice. This week’s stars are Vladimir Tarasenko (STL), P.K. Subban (NSH), Auston Matthews (TOR), and Henrik Lundqvist (NYR).

The Blues (23-22-5, 51 pts) enter the week just three points behind the Vancouver Canucks for the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. St. Louis defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-2, on Saturday, as Tarasenko netted his 18th goal of the season and added two assists.

The Predators (31-19-4, 66 pts) are currently four points behind Winnipeg for the Central Division lead. Nashville fell to Dallas, 3-1, in its most recent game on Saturday. Sunday’s game in Nashville marks the second half of a home-and-home weekend between the Blues and Predators, which opens on Saturday afternoon in St. Louis.

John Forslund (play-by-play), Joe Micheletti (analyst) and McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass analyst) will have the call from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. McHugh, Milbury and Jones will anchor studio coverage.

STAR SUNDAY PRESENTED BY AT&T – MAPLE LEAFS-RANGERS AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Maple Leafs (32-17-3, 67 pts) sit in second place in the Atlantic Division behind league-leading Tampa Bay (80 pts), and defeated Anaheim, 6-1, on Monday night. John Tavares scored his team-leading 31st goal of the season in the victory. Matthews had his three-game goal streak snapped, but has notched 46 points in just 38 games this season. Toronto defeated New York, 5-3 in their most recent meeting on Dec. 22, powered by a four-goal third period.

Kenny Albert (play-by-play) and Brian Boucher (‘Inside-the-Glass analyst) will have the call from Madison Square Garden. Pre-game coverage starts at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN with NHL Live, hosted by Kathryn Tappen alongside Patrick Sharp and Keith Jones.

Off the Ice with Kathryn Tappen takes viewers away from the rink and behind the scenes with some of the NHL’s most intriguing players, as they share their personal lives and unique hobbies with NBC Sports’ Emmy Award-Winning host and sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen. This week’s episode, which debuts Wednesday on NBCSports.com, features San Jose Sharks captain Joe Pavelski. Tappen travels with Pavelski to his favorite driving range and the pair talks about Pavelski’s irrational fears of karaoke and getting food stuck in his teeth.

This season, the digital-only series will feature interviews with the Chicago Blackhawks’ Duncan Keith, New York Rangers’ Mika Zibanejad, Boston Bruins’ Brad Marchand, Vegas Golden Knights’ Nate Schmidt, and New York Islanders’ Anders Lee.
