STAMFORD, Conn. – December 10, 2018 – NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Hockey heads to the Windy City, as Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks host Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pre-game coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with a special on-site edition of NHL Live originating from United Center in Chicago, Ill., hosted by Kathryn Tappen, alongside analysts Keith Jones, Jeremy Roenick and insider Darren Dreger.

This week’s NHL coverage on NBCSN begins Tuesday, when league-leading goal scorer Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals host Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings at 7:30 p.m. ET from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Paul Burmeister, Mike Milbury and Anson Carter will handle pre-game coverage ahead of Capitals-Red Wings.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – PENGUINS-BLACKHAWKS AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Penguins (12-10-6, 30 pts) boast points in three straight games (2-0-1), including a 6-2 defeat of the New York Islanders on Thursday. Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin pace the team in points (33), and five Penguins players have tallied at least 10 goals through 28 games. Pittsburgh visits the New York Islanders this evening.

The Blackhawks (9-17-5, 23 pts) look to snap a seven-game losing streak on Tuesday against the Winnipeg Jets. Kane, who leads the team in every major offensive category, scored twice in Chicago’s 3-2 defeat to the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday. The Blackhawks haven’t won back-to-back games since October.

Six-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk, and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire will have the call from United Center.

RED WINGS-CAPITALS TUESDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Red Wings (13-13-4, 30 pts) are 4-4-2 in their last 10 games, with wins coming against the Bruins (Dec. 1) and Maple Leafs (Dec. 6). Detroit fell to the New York Islanders, 3-2, on Saturday after jumping out to a two-goal lead in the first period. Larkin leads the team in points (28), and is tied with teammate Andreas Athanasiou for the team lead with 11 goals.

The Capitals (17-9-3, 37 pts) defeated Columbus, 4-0, on Saturday and sit atop the Metropolitan Division following a 9-2-0 record in their last 11 games. Ovechkin registered his league-leading 22nd goal in the win against the Blue Jackets, and carries an 11-game point streak into Tuesday’s contest against Detroit.

John Walton (play-by-play) and AJ Mleczko (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
