STAMFORD, Conn. – December 6, 2018 – NBC Sports presents wall-to-wall Olympic sports coverage this week as two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin continues her season in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup from St. Moritz, Switzerland, Olympic gold medalists Chloe Kim and David Wise compete in the halfpipe competition at the US Ski and Snowboard: Toyota US Grand Prix in Colorado, Olympic gold-medalist John Shuster headlines the Curling World Cup from Omaha, NE, and world champion Nathan Chen takes the ice at figure skating’s Grand Prix Final in Vancouver.

The alpine skiing World Cup season returns to Europe this weekend as the women compete in St. Moritz, Switzerland, and the men race in Val d’lsere, France. Mikaela Shiffrin won her first career World Cup super-G race last weekend at Lake Louise, becoming the 7th woman to win World Cup races in all five major disciplines. She will compete in both super-G and parallel slalom in St. Moritz. Two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety is expected to lead the American men in giant slalom.

CURLING WORLD CUP – OMAHA, NE

NBC Sports presents nearly 40 hours of the inaugural Curling World Cup this week across NBCSN, NBC Sports.com, the NBC Sports app, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, OlympicChannel.com, and the Olympic Channel app, as 2018 Olympic champion John Shuster and 2018 national champion Jamie Sinclair lead the Team USA contingent this weekend in Omaha, Neb.

Shuster led the Americans on an improbable run at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, rattling off five straight wins, capped by a 10-7 win over Sweden in the gold medal game. He skips the men’s squad in the second leg of the Curling World Cup this weekend, while 2018 national champion Jamie Sinclair skips the women’s team, and Tabitha Peterson and Joe Polo will represent Team USA in the mixed doubles competition.

U.S. Olympic medalist and reigning world champion Nathan Chen headlines the American contingent in Vancouver. He faces 2018 Olympic silver medalist Shoma Uno of Japan, who placed second in last year’s Grand Prix Final after finishing 0.5 points behind Chen. The ladies’ event will feature PyeongChang Olympic champion Alina Zagitova of Russia, who aims to win her second straight Grand Prix Final, while 2018 world silver medalists Madison Hubbell and Zach Donohue should lead the U.S. in ice dance. The Grand Prix Final of the Men’s and Ladies’ free skates will be televised live at 4 p.m. ET this Sunday on NBC.

Terry Gannon handles play-by-play for the NBC and NBCSN broadcasts, joined by 1998 Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski and three-time U.S. champion Johnny Weir. 2006 Olympic ice dance silver medalist Tanith White will call remaining competitions for Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, joined by Lipinski and Weir for men’s, ladies’ and pairs’ programs and Ben Agosto for ice dance.
