STAMFORD, Conn. – December 5, 2018 – 2018 Olympic champion John Shuster and 2018 national champion Jamie Sinclair lead the Team USA curling contingent this weekend in Omaha, Neb., as NBC Sports presents nearly 40 hours of the inaugural Curling World Cup this week across NBCSN, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, OlympicChannel.com and the Olympic Channel app, and NBC Sports.com and the NBC Sports app.

Live coverage begins tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA as the U.S. faces Norway in mixed doubles, followed by Shuster and the Team USA men’s rink against China at 10 p.m. ET.

The Curling World Cup is a new international curling series featuring four stages, the first of which took place in Suzhou, China, in September. Eight nations compete in each discipline (men’s, women’s, mixed doubles) at the first three stops as they compete for a spot at the Grand Final in May.

Olympic champion John Shuster skips the men’s rink in the second leg of the Curling World Cup this weekend, while 2018 national champion Jamie Sinclair skips the women’s team, and Tabitha Peterson and Joe Polo will represent Team USA in the mixed doubles competition. Shuster led the Americans on an improbable run at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, rattling off five straight wins, capped by a 10-7 win over Sweden in the gold medal game. His gold medal-winning team included Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner, and alternate Joe Polo, who are all competing in Omaha this week.

Canada had a clean sweep in the first leg of the Curling World Cup, finishing first in the men’s, women’s and mixed doubles events. Team USA’s mixed doubles team of Sarah Anderson and Korey Dropkin finished in second place in Suzhou, while the women’s team finished in sixth, skipped by Nina Roth, and the men’s team finished in sixth place, skipped by Rich Ruohonen,

Following are the teams representing Team USA in this weekend’s stage of the Curling World Cup:

  • Men: John Shuster, Chris Plys, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner
  • Women: Jamie Sinclair, Sarah Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Monica Walker
  • Mixed doubles: Tabitha Peterson, Joe Polo

Jason Knapp (play-by-play) and 2010 Olympic gold medalist Kevin Martin (analyst) will call the action from Ralston Arena in Omaha, Neb.

NBCSN’s presentation of the Curling World Cup begins Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. ET with live coverage of the U.S. men’s rink vs. Canada, followed by live coverage of Team USA vs. China in mixed doubles on Friday at 8:30 p.m. ET and live coverage of the American women vs. Canada on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. ET.
