STAMFORD, Conn. – December 4, 2018 Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers visit Vladimir Tarasenko and the St. Louis Blues to kick off a Wednesday Night Hockey doubleheader at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, which shifts to Anaheim, Calif., at 10:30 p.m. ET, when Rickard Rakell and the Ducks host Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks. Pre-game coverage on NBCSN begins at 7 p.m. ET with NHL Live.

This week’s NHL coverage on NBCSN begins tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, as 2018 No. 1 overall draft pick Rasmus Dahlin and the upstart Buffalo Sabres host Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs in a clash of top Eastern Conference opponents.

Kathryn Tappen will host Wednesday’s coverage on NHL Live alongside analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones, and NHL insider Bob McKenzie, while Tappen, Milbury and Jones will be in-studio tonight for Maple Leafs-Sabres.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY – OILERS-BLUES AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Oilers (13-12-2, 28 pts) are 4-3-1 since Ken Hitchcock took over the reins as head coach. McDavid scored his 14th goal of the season in the first period against Vegas on Saturday, and currently ranks sixth in the NHL in points (35). McDavid paces the team in goals, assists (21) and points. McDavid missed Monday’s contest against Dallas due to illness.

The Blues (9-13-3, 21 pts) split their last two games, including a 3-2 overtime win against Colorado on Friday to snap the Avalanche’s six-game winning streak. Tarasenko netted his ninth goal of the year in the victory, and teammate Colton Parayko scored the game-winner in extra time. Through 25 games, Ryan O’Reilly paces the team in goals (12), assists (16) and points (28).

Six-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk, and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Brian Boucher will have the call from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Mo.

WNH DOUBLEHEADER BLACKHAWKS-DUCKS AT 10:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Blackhawks (9-14-5, 23 pts) look to snap a four-game losing streak on Wednesday in their first of leg of a two-game road trip. Chicago fell to Calgary, 3-2, on Sunday. Kane leads the team in goals (13), assists (17) and points (30).

The Ducks (14-10-5, 33 pts) are 6-1-0 in their last seven games and have won four straight entering Wednesday’s contest against the Blackhawks. Anaheim overcame a four-goal deficit on Sunday to defeat the Washington Capitals, 6-5. In the victory, Ryan Miller tied John Vanbiesbrouck for the most wins by an American-born goalie (374) in NHL history.

Alex Faust (play-by-play) and Brian Hayward (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will have the call from Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

MAPLE LEAFS-SABRES TUESDAY AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Maple Leafs (19-8-0, 38 pts) have won four straight games by a combined score of 20-8, and currently boast the third-most points (38) in the NHL through 27 games. Matthews scored his 13th goal of the season in Toronto’s 5-3 victory over Minnesota on Saturday. Mitch Marner is fourth in the NHL in points (38).

The Sabres (17-8-3, 37 pts) have won 11 of their last 15 games, and are currently four points out of the Atlantic Division lead. Jeff Skinner, who was acquired by Buffalo during the offseason, ranks tied for second in the league in goals (20), and is tied for fourth in the NHL in plus-minus.
