NBC Sports Presents 18 Fighting Irish Games Across NBCSN, NBCSports.com & NBC Sports App
STAMFORD, Conn. – October 25, 2018 – NBC Sports’ sixth season of Notre Dame hockey coverage begins with a championship rematch featuring two of the best teams in the nation this Friday at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when the top-ranked Fighting Irish host the No. 3 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN, the first of 18 games set to air across NBCSN and NBCSports.com throughout the 2018-19 regular-season.
Coverage continues this Friday at 5 p.m. ET exclusively on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app with the second game of the weekend series between the Fighting Irish and Bulldogs.
Notre Dame hopes to avenge its loss to Minnesota Duluth in the men’s ice hockey championship game last season, when the Bulldogs defeated the Fighting Irish, 2-1, to win the NCAA men’s hockey title in April.
Notre Dame (3-0-1) is coming off a pair of wins against Nebraska-Omaha, while the Bulldogs (4-1-1) have won four straight games, sweeping series with Michigan Tech and Maine. Minnesota Duluth defenseman Scott Perunovich has posted 10 points (1g/9a) this season, tied for the most in Division I college hockey, followed closely by Notre Dame forward Cal Burke’s nine points (5g/4a) in just four games to start the 2018-19 season.
Steve Schlanger (play-by-play) and Anson Carter (analyst) will call Friday night’s game from Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, Ind.
Following the Fighting Irish’s two-game series against the Bulldogs, NBCSN, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will combine to deliver coverage of 13 Big Ten matchups and three out-of-conference games during the 2018-19 Notre Dame hockey season. In total, eight games will be televised on NBCSN and an additional 10 games will be streamed live via the NBC Sports app and NBCSports.com.
