“NHL LIVE” HITS THE ROAD THIS SEASON FOR “WEDNESDAY NIGHT HOCKEY” ON NBCSN

Pre-Game Show to Broadcast Live On-Site from Nine NHL Cities Hosting Wednesday Night Hockey

NHL Live Travels to Washington, D.C. for NHL Face-Off Featuring Capitals-Bruins on Wednesday, Oct. 3; Coverage Begins at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN

Kathryn Tappen, Jeremy Roenick, Keith Jones & Bob McKenzie Will Be On-Site Outside Capital One Arena

STAMFORD, Conn. – September 27, 2018 – As part of NBC Sports’ comprehensive coverage of the 2018-19 NHL regular-season, NHL Live – NBC Sports’ live NHL pre-game show – will leave behind Studio 2 in Stamford, Conn., and go on the road to host coverage on-site ahead of nine signature Wednesday Night Hockey games.

Beginning with a road trip to Washington, D.C. on October 3, when Alex Ovechkin and the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals drop the puck on their title defense against Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins (7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN), NHL Live will crisscross the United States and Canada to visit some of the most hockey-crazed cities in North America.

“By taking NHL Live on the road this season, we hope to capture the chaos, excitement and hockey-crazed fandom that make NHL fans some of the best in the world,” said John McGuinness, Coordinating Producer, NBC Sports. “From Capital One Arena in D.C., to the United Center in Chicago, to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, we have intentionally selected some of the most popular and energetic scenes in the league, and are looking forward to showcasing the iconic elements and culture of each team, fan base and city.”

Hosts Liam McHugh and Kathryn Tappen; analysts Mike Milbury, Keith Jones, Jeremy Roenick and Anson Carter; NHL insider Bob McKenzie; and others will participate in pre-game and on-site coverage at various times throughout the season.

For Bruins-Capitals, Tappen will host on-site alongside Roenick, Jones and McKenzie from outside Capital One Arena. NBCSN’s season debut of NHL Live will begin at 6 p.m. ET, and will capture the scene among fans in Washington, D.C., as the Capitals get set to raise their first-ever Stanley Cup championship banner.

Tappen, Roenick, Jones and McKenzie’s visit to the nation’s capital kicks off NHL Live’s season-long pilgrimage of on-site visits to some of the league’s most popular buildings. Coverage will include NHL Live’s return to Las Vegas for the first time since the Stanley Cup Final, as the Golden Knights host the Anaheim Ducks on Nov. 14 at 10:30 p.m. on NBCSN. NHL Live will also be on-site in Manitoba, Canada, for Toronto-Winnipeg on Oct. 24, followed by a visit to Chicago for Penguins-Blackhawks on Dec. 12. Additional locations will be announced at a later date.

2018-19 REGULAR SEASON COVERAGE ON NBC & NBCSN

NBC Sports will deliver coverage of a record 109 regular-season games during 2018-19, beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when Alex Ovechkin and the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals raise their championship banner to the rafters and host the Boston Bruins. All games will be streamed live on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app to authenticated users via TV Everywhere.
