NASCAR
NBC Sports Group revs up for its fourth week of 2018 NASCAR on NBC racing with more than 17 hours of trackside coverage from New Hampshire Motor Speedway, culminating with the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 this Sunday, July 22 at 2 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

NASCAR on NBC analysts Jeff Burton (@Jeffburton), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (@DaleJr) and Steve Letarte (@steveletarte) will take over NBC Sports’ broadcast booth for a special analyst-only call of this Sunday’s race. Combining their decades of experience behind the wheel and in the garage, Earnhardt, Burton and Letarte will bring viewers a fresh perspective of New Hampshire Motor Speedway, through informal stories, conversation and race commentary.

Lead NASCAR on NBC race announcer Rick Allen (@Rickallenracing) will take on a new role for the weekend, as he adds his insights from pit road to Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice and race coverage from “The Magic Mile.” For more information on Sunday’s special “NBC Race Team Broadcast” click here.

RUGBY

NBC Sports will present more than 30 hours of live coverage of the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens from San Francisco, Calif., this weekend across NBC, NBCSN, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, and NBC Sports Gold – NBC Sports Group’s direct-to-consumer product – representing the most robust U.S. coverage of the Rugby World Cup Sevens in the event’s history.

NBC Sports’ game commentary and studio coverage will originate from San Francisco and will feature numerous high-profile rugby players, including current New England Patriots safety and 2016 U.S. Olympic Sevens team member Nate Ebner, who will serve as a studio analyst. Former USA Sevens captain Brian Hightower, U.S. Rugby Hall of Fame member Dan  Lyle, former Premiership Rugby and English international prop Alex Corbisiero, and World Rugby Hall of Famer Phaidra Knight will provide game and studio commentary throughout the tournament. Leigh Diffey and Bill Seward will handle play-by-play commentary, and Ahmed Fareed will host NBC Sports’ 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens studio coverage on-site in San Francisco.

 

GOLF

NBC Sports Group’s all-encompassing coverage of The 147TH Open at Carnoustie will deliver 50 live hours of tournament coverage Thursday-Sunday, spanning from the opening tee shot at 1:30 a.m. ET on Thursday on Golf Channel through the final putt on Sunday on NBC. The PGA TOUR also is staging the Barbasol Championship in Kentucky, where Brittany Lincicome, a two-time major champion on the LPGA Tour, will become just the sixth female in history to compete in a PGA TOUR event. She is competing this week on a sponsor exemption. Golf Channel will air live coverage all four days of the Barbasol Championship.

More than 350 total hours of coverage surrounding The Open: NBC Sports Group’s comprehensive coverage of The Open this week features nearly 50 hours of news and analysis on-site from Carnoustie with its Golf Central Live From The Open news franchise; another 50 live hours being broadcast on linear television (Golf Channel, NBC) spanning from the opening tee shot on Thursday through the final putt on Sunday; and an additional 170 complementary hours of streaming coverage that will include featured holes and groups.
