STAMFORD, Conn. – July 17, 2018 – NBC Sports continues coverage of the Professional Fighters League this Thursday, July 19, live at 9 p.m. ET on NBCSN from NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, in Uniondale, NY. MMA coverage includes five bouts, highlighted by a pair of featherweight bouts, featuring Lance Palmer (13-3, 1-0 PFL) vs. Jumabieke Tuerxun (20-7-1, 0-1 PFL), and undefeated Andre Harrison (18-0, 1-0 PFL) vs. Nazareno Malegarie (29-4, 1-0 PFL). The night will also feature a heavyweight matchup between Francimar Barroso (20-7, 1-0 PFL) and Jack May (10-3, 1-0 PFL).

The featherweights and heavyweights compete for the second time this season in their final opportunity to earn points to qualify for playoff positions. The top eight fighters in each weight class will advance to the playoffs, and by season’s end, one fighter in each class will take home $1 million and the title of PFL Champion.

Lance Palmer is a former All-American wrestler at Ohio State University and former WSOF featherweight champion. He relies heavily on his wrestling background, but has expanded his skills to boxing, and jiu jitsu. After a win at PFL 1, Palmer aims to continue his success this season against Tuerxun, who comes off a loss at PFL 1 against Andre Harrison. Tuerxun has fought the majority of his career overseas in China and Russia, building an impressive 20-7 record.

A Long Island native, Andre Harrison returns to his home state to preserve his undefeated 18-0 record. The former WSOF Featherweight Champion dominated Tuerxun at PFL 1, but faces a tough opponent in Argentinian jiu-jitsu specialist, Nazareno Malegarie. Malegarie has not lost a match since September 2015, winning 12 of his last 13 fights, and comes off a win at PFL 1.

In the featured heavyweight bout of the night, Francimar Barroso faces off against Jack May. May and Barroso are among the current leaders in the heavyweight division after earning six points each with a first round wins at PFL 1.

The NBCSN show will also include Alexandre Almeida (19-7, 1-0 PFL) vs. Steven Siler (30-17, 1-0 PFL) in a featherweight matchup, and Alex Nicholson (12-5, 1-0 PFL) vs. Philipe Lins (10-3, 1-0 PFL) in a heavyweight contest.

Todd Harris calls the action, joined by MMA Hall of Famers and analysts Randy Couture and Bas Rutten, alongside Yves Edwards and reporter Caroline Pearce.

The Professional Fighters League features a regular season, playoffs, and championship, and individual fighters compete in a win-and-advance postseason format. The 2018 PFL season consists of seven regular-season events, a bracket-style playoff, and a $10 million postseason prize pool.  The premiere season begins with 72 athletes, 12 in each of the six different weight-classes, with one fighter in each division earning $1 million and the title of true champion. NBC Sports will present exclusive live Thursday night PFL telecasts, including seven regular-season live events in prime time exclusively on NBCSN through the end of August.
