2018 NHL Gaming World Championship Featured Top EA Sports NHL 18 Players from Around The World

Six Regional Finalists Competed for $50,000 Grand Prize at Esports Arena Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel and Casino

STAMFORD, Conn. – June 27, 2018 – NBC Sports will present coverage of the 2018 NHL Gaming World Championship Final tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, featuring the top EA Sports NHL 18 players from around the world competing for a $50,000 grand prize.

Nicola “FoolX90” Bruna (Canada winner), John “JohnWayne90” Casagranda (U.S. winner), Matthew “YungGren” Grenier (Canada runner-up), Arttu “Artuzio” Mustila (Europe winner), David “JrPens91” Roebuck (U.S. runner-up) and Erik “I_Eki_I” Tammenpää (Europe runner-up) were the six regional finalists that competed in a round-robin style format to open the tournament. The top two competitors at the end of the round-robin portion then squared off in a best-of-three final to determine the 2018 NHL Gaming World Champion.

The 2018 NHL Gaming World Championship Final was held at Esports Arena Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel and Casino on June 19. Players earned their place in the World Finals by finishing in the top two at their respective Regional Finals, administered and run by FACEIT, the official tournament platform of the 2018 NHL Gaming World Championship.
