STANLEY CUP FINAL GAME 3 – VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS AT WASHINGTON CAPITALS – SATURDAY AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN FROM CAPITAL ONE ARENA

Alex Ovechkin scored his 13th goal of the postseason and his first ever in a Stanley Cup Final and Braden Holtby made 37 saves, including a spectacular stick save in the waning moments of the third period, as the Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights, 3-2, in Game 2 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Holtby saved all 15 shots he faced in the final period. Brooks Orpik extended the Capitals’ lead to 3-1 in the second period with his first goal of the playoffs and his first goal in 220 games.

NHL on NBC analyst and former NHL goaltender Brian Boucher, who played in the 2010 Stanley Cup Final as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers, discussed the impact of Holtby’s save following Game 2.

Boucher: “It was incredible…it should be a goal. The game should have been going to overtime…that’s the type of save that can change the course of a series. There was a lot of criticism about his Game 1. He certainly answered all of those criticisms in Game 2, and to come up with a save like that is simply sensational.”

Boucher on Holtby’s overall performance in Game 2: “His rebound control was very good. His concentration was there. He looked a little nervous at times in Game 1. I didn’t get the sense of that here (in Game 2)…by and large, Holtby’s game was solid all night long. There was not a moment where I thought that he didn’t have control of this game.”

Washington hosts Vegas for the first time since the two teams met in Capital One Arena on Feb. 4, a game in which the Golden Knights prevailed, 4-3. The Capitals are 4-5 at home in these playoffs, while the Golden Knights are 6-2 on the road. Through two games, Vegas and Washington have combined to score 15 goals by 14 different players. The Capitals’ Evgeny Kuznetsov, who leads the team in both assists (14) and points (25), suffered an injury in the first period of Game 2 and his status is uncertain for Saturday.

Following is the full telecast schedule for the 2018 Stanley Cup Final with networks and start times. Pre-game coverage will begin each night with NHL Live at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
