SportsEngine Partners with USA Track & Field to Promote Youth Participation Across the U.S.

Local USATF Clubs to be Featured on SportsEngine’s Youth Sports Directory, SportsEngine.com

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN / May 17, 2018 SportsEngine, Inc., an NBC Sports Group company, will partner with USA Track & Field (USATF) to promote participation in youth track and field programs across the United States. During the Nike Prefontaine Classic, May 25-26, and the USATF Outdoor Championships, June 21-24, SportsEngine’s youth sports directory will dedicate its homepage to USA Track & Field. The site will feature local programs from across the country and resources to help families find clubs in their area that are the right fit for children interested in track and field.

“Track and field is the country’s fastest-growing sport on the high school level, and we are excited to bring greater awareness to USATF’s local programs through this collaboration with SportsEngine,” USATF CEO Max Siegel said. “We hope to spark even more opportunities for young athletes to become involved in our sport or to take their track and field participation to the next level.”

In the summer of 2017, SportsEngine launched the country’s largest youth sports directory, now featuring over 110,000 youth sports programs and organizations, including nearly 1,000 track and field organizations and programs. With this partnership, USATF is adding its entire list of youth track & field clubs to sportsengine.com, and each USATF-affiliated club can add programs to be included in their listing. This will enable families to quickly and easily find youth programs in their area.

“As we look ahead to the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, we’re excited to partner with USATF to help build excitement and awareness of the sport,” stated Travis Shives, SportsEngine Vice President of Sports. “We’re passionate about the long-term health of today’s youth and hold firmly to the belief that today’s youth athletes are tomorrow’s future Olympians. We want to do our part to develop a love of sport in today’s youth.”

At SportsEngine.com, parents and athletes can search by sport and geographic location to find a comprehensive list of youths sports organizations, programs, and events  in their area. In addition to track and field, over 70 sports are represented from across the U.S. and Canada in the directory. Administrators may also access SportsEngine.com to claim their organization or event, enabling them to promote programs, collect registrations, and ensure their listing appears in search results.
