STAMFORD, Conn. – May 14, 2018 – NBC Sports’ exclusive coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs continues tonight with Game 2 of the Western Conference Final  at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, as Marc-Andre Fleury and the Vegas Golden Knights look to even the series against Patrik Laine and the Winnipeg Jets. Pre-game coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET with NHL Live.

NBC Sports presents Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN, as Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals aim to take a commanding 3-0 lead against Steven Stamkos and the top-seeded Tampa Bay Lightning.

STANLEY CUP PLAYOFF VIEWERSHIP GAINS ON NBC AND NBCSN CONTINUE INTO CONFERENCE FINALS

  • Game 1 of the Capitals-Lightning Eastern Conference Final on NBCSN on Friday produced a 1.12 overnight rating, up 47% vs. the comparable Conference Final window last year on NBCSN (NSH-ANA Game 1; 0.76);
  • Game 1 of the Golden Knights-Jets Western Conference Final on NBC on Saturday night produced a 1.92 overnight rating, essentially flat with the comparable Conference Final window last year on NBC (OTT-PIT Game 1; 1.94);
  • Locally, Game 1 of Golden Knights-Jets on NBC produced a 15.3 rating in Las Vegas to rank as the highest-rated NHL game on record in the market;
  • Game 2 of Capitals-Lightning on NBCSN on Sunday night produced a 1.52 overnight rating to rank as NBCSN’s best Conference Final game, excluding Game 7s, since 2015 (ANA-CHI, 5/27/15; 1.88), up 39% vs. the comparable Conference Final window last year on NBCSN (NSH-ANA Game 2; 1.09);
  • Game 2 of Capitals-Lightning on NBCSN produced an 8.2 rating in the Washington D.C. market to rank as NBCSN’s second-highest rated NHL postseason game in the market, only behind last year’s Second Round Game 7 vs. Pittsburgh (8.3);
  • Note: Final viewership figures for all weekend games will be available by Tuesday.


VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS AT WINNIPEG JETS – WESTERN CONFERENCE FINAL GAME 2 TONIGHT AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – JETS LEAD 1-0

The Jets scored three goals in the first period and Blake Wheeler notched three assists as the league’s best home team during the regular season defeated the Golden Knights, 4-2, in Game 1 on Saturday. Wheeler now leads the NHL with 15 assists during the postseason. With the victory, Winnipeg improved to 5-2 at home during these playoffs. Vegas trails for the first time in the postseason after sweeping Los Angeles in the First Round and tying or leading San Jose before eventually defeating the Sharks in six games in the Second Round. Fleury has allowed three-plus goals in five of his last six starts after allowing just three total goals in the first five games of these playoffs.

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING AT WASHINGTON CAPITALS – EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL GAME 3 TUESDAY AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – CAPITALS LEAD 2-0

Washington took a 2-0 series lead on Sunday night following a 6-2 victory in Tampa Bay, pushing the Capitals road record to 7-1 in the postseason. Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov each recorded multi-point games, as the Caps moved to 10-2 in their last 12 games. Since the 1974-75 season, teams that hold a 2-0 series lead in the Conference Finals own an all-time series record of 39-2.

NBC SPORTS WASHINGTON TO SURROUND CAPS-LIGHTNING SERIES WITH COMPREHENSIVE LOCAL COVERAGE

NBC Sports Washington will surround all seven potential third-round games with more than two hours of live Capitals news, analysis and commentary. Coverage will include pregame and postgame live from Capital One Arena for Caps home games and from Amalie Arena in Tampa for Caps road games.  Caps FaceOff will be presented for a half hour leading into Caps GameTime pregame show coverage taking you right up to game time. After games, Caps Overtime will extend postgame coverage for up to an hour following Caps Extra. The shows will be fan-focused, allowing Caps fans to participate in coverage of the day’s most compelling topics and storylines.
