(1) WASHINGTON CAPITALS AT (2) PITTSBURGH PENGUINS AT 7 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – CAPITALS LEAD 3-2

The Ovechkin-led Capitals are one victory away from defeating the Penguins in postseason play for the first time in three years, after Pittsburgh knocked out Washington on its runs to the Stanley Cup in 2016 and 2017. Washington scored four unanswered goals in Game 5 en route to a 6-3 win to move within one game of the Eastern Conference Final. Evgeny Kuznetsov tied the game in the third period and Jakub Vrana netted the game-winner late in the frame on an assist from Ovechkin. Crosby scored his 66th career playoff goal to pass Jaromir Jagr for second all-time in Penguins history, trailing only Mario Lemieux (76).

Overall, Washington has had 10 opportunities all-time to eliminate Pittsburgh from the playoffs, but are 1-9 in such contests, and have lost seven consecutive playoff series against the Penguins.

(1) NASHVILLE PREDATORS AT (2) WINNIPEG JETS AT 9:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN – JETS LEAD 3-2

A four-goal second period propelled Winnipeg to a convincing 6-2 victory over Nashville in Game 5 on Saturday, bringing the Jets within one game of a Western Conference Final berth for the first time in franchise history. Predators goalie and Vezina Trophy finalist Pekka Rinne was pulled for the second time this series after allowing six goals on 26 shots, while his counterpart Connor Hellebuyck finished with 38 saves on 40 shots. Kyle Connor paced the offense for the Jets with a three-point night, including his first two goals in the playoffs, in only his 10th career postseason game. He led all rookies during the regular season with 31 goals. The Predators are 1-7 in postseason series in which they’ve trailed 3-2.
